After taking two losses earlier in the season to Clay Carlson, Andrew Alirez avenged those defeats — and scored a win in the finals over Allan Hart — on his way to the 141-pound title at the Big 12 Championships. Carlson was an All-American in 2021 at 141 and won the most recent matchup with Hart in the consolations at the NCAA Championships, along with wins over Droegemueller, Young, and Happel. Expect some chaos to come in this weight class as the top seven are ranked in the top 18 in the country to start the season.
