2022 World Championship Rankings - Men's Freestyle

USA and Iran are the clear favorites to win the team title with Russia currently banned from the 2022 World Championships. If the rankings hold, USA will bring home 6 medals from the world championships - 4 golds and 2 silvers. Iran is ranked to win 8 medals - 3 golds, 2 silvers, and 3 bronze. Though USA holds a 6 point lead according to these rankings, 1 weight could produce more than a 25-point swing for either country. Both countries will have very little margin for error and will need strong performances from all 10 wrestlers to win the team title.

After Iran and USA, the race for third place is open for almost any country listed in the top 10. Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Turkey are the safest picks of this bunch with strong medal contenders throughout their lineups. Of that group, Azerbaijan looks to have the most promising lineup with many young contenders who have made huge improvements over the past year.
