2021-22 Dan Hodge Trophy Rankings

As a reminder, the Dan Hodge Trophy has set criteria to determine who the winner should be. The criteria are below in order of importance:

  1. Record

  2. Number of pins

  3. Dominance

  4. Past credentials

  5. Quality of competition

  6. Sportsmanship/citizenship

  7. Heart

It's the giving season, and my gift to you is the expansion of the 2021-22 Dan Hodge Trophy Rankings from 15 to 25! Donnell Washington and Clay Carlson are probably the biggest surprises to fans, but the two have really been racking up the pins so far this season. In addition to seven pins, Carlson has a CKLV title to his name.

Daton Fix made a large jump by adding two more pins to his record while Jaydin Eierman fell a couple of slots with his numerous close matches at Collegiate Duals. Similarly, AJ Ferrari fell 11 spots by only picking up one bonus point win in his last four matches.

Heavyweight and 141 lead the way with four wrestlers each. At 285, Greg Kerkvliet and Cohlton Schultz snuck in the final four spots with the expansion this week. Kerkvliet gets the nod above Schultz despite having a lower pin count due to his higher bonus rate and actually taking the mat in the Penn State - Arizona State dual.
