A few notes:

1. The college season played heavily into this round as some Senior women are facing off on the NCAA and NAIA mats.

2. Yelena Makoyed hits #3. Other than Kennedy Blades at #2, she’s the only one on the list to have a win over Kylie Welker.

3. There’s not much change at the top, but with women’s college wrestling cranking, there was a huge shake-up in the bottom five. Peyton Prussin, not even in the top 10 last round, moved all the way up to #6 at 50 kg. King’s Ana Luciano is #6 at 62 kg; Oklahoma City’s Destiny Lyng ranks #8 at 65 kg; and at 76 kg, Simon Fraser’s Emily Cue climbs to #4, while Bearcat Wrestling Club’s Joye Levendusky reaches the #6 spot.

4. The youth movement keeps making its mark. Twin Cities RTC’s Katerina Lange goes all the way to #4 at 65 kg with her big win over Ashlynn Ortega (now ranked #5) at the North Central Open, while King freshman Cheyenne Bowman hits #5 at 76 kg with her 3-2 win over McKendree’s Levendusky at the same event. North Central freshman Amani Jones cracked the top 10 at 55 kg with some big wins, hitting the #8 spot. At 57 kg, two names hit the top 10 for the first time—Lindenwood’s Cayden Condit came in at #9 and Texas Wesleyan freshman Devin Patton hits #10. At 62 kg, Spartan Mat Club’s Lexie Basham got the #9 spot. Another North Central freshman, Tiera Jimerson, went to #6 at 68 kg, while at 72 kg, King freshman Tiffani Baublitz breaks in at #10. Brittyn Corbishley (Texas Wesleyan), Abby McIntyre (Grand View), and Ashley Lekas (Twin Cities RTC) all made the top 10 for the first time, going 8-10 at 76 kg after impressive freshman campaigns. Think that’s a lot of young names making a splash? Wait until next year when Junior world champions Kylie Welker, Kennedy Blades, and Amit Elor—all high school seniors—enter the scene, unless they skip the college mats.

 5. A few names were removed for inactivity since Olympic Team Trials, though they’ll be put back in if they return to the mats. We’re uncertain if some of them might be retired and we’re waiting for news on that.
