2023 International Wrestling Rankings - Men's Freestyle

125 - Amir Zare

Amir Zare takes over the heavyweight crown once again after winning Worlds in Belgrade by defeating Taha Akgul, Geno Petriashvili, Daniel Ligeti, and Dzianis Khramiankou. Zare also won a world title in 2021 but won bronze at both the Tokyo Olympics and last year’s Worlds. At just 22 years old, Zare is setting himself up to be one of the all-time greats at heavyweight and is the favorite leading into the Paris Olympics. All of the other rankings changes follow the results at the Worlds - you can check out all of those results here.

It’s also worth noting that Gable Steveson has been removed from the rankings after failing to compete at the World Championships. Steveson was ranked #1 in our last set of rankings but will remain out of the rankings until he competes again in freestyle.
