97 - Abdulrashid Sadulaev

Former Russian Akhmed Tazhudinov won the Asian Championships now representing Bahrain. On top of the gold medal, Tazhudinov defeated 2021 world bronze medalist Mojtaba Goleij to vault him up the rankings at 97kg. 

At the European Championships, Givi Matcharashvili came away with gold after defeating 2022 world bronze medalist Magomedkhan Magomedov in the finals. Outside of the finals result, there were a few other notable results at Euros. Ibrahim Ciftci won a bronze medal with wins over Radu Lefter and Murazi Mchedlidze. Prior to the loss to Ciftci, Mchedlidze took out 2022 world silver medalist Batyrbek Tsakulov to move into the rankings.
