70 - Taishi Narikuni

Alec Pantaleo was upset in the early rounds of the 2023 US Open but came back to win 8 straight matches to take 3rd. Beyond his performance in the wrestle-backs, Pantaleo has established himself as one of the top 70kg wrestlers in the world and holds his spot at #6 in the rankings for his past wins over Giorgi Elbakidze, Haji Aliyev, Khadzhimurad Gagdzhiyev, and Amir Yazdani.

Though Tyler Berger won the US Open, he doesn't yet come into the rankings as he hasn't recorded any ranked wins over wrestlers in this field. Berger notably competed at 2 rankings tournaments in February and failed to place in both events losing to unranked wrestlers Arman Andreasyan and Temuulen Enkhtuya.

As mentioned in the 65kg rankings, Haji Aliyev won a gold medal at the European Championships with a win over Ramazan Ramazanov in the finals. However, Aliyev remains ranked at 65kg due to his intention to drop there for the world championships and because of his recent match against Shamil Mamedov.
