2023 International Wrestling Rankings - Men's Freestyle
65 Gadzhimurad Rashidov
Russia’s Zagir Shakhiev won the 2021 World Championships at 65kg and moved up a few slots in the rankings based on his performance in Oslo. However, all four of the Tokyo medalists were absent at worlds, so Shakiev only rises to the #5 spot. Mongolia’s Tulga Tumur-Ochir won world bronze only losing to Shakhiev and defeating #7 Vazgen Tevanyan (ARM). Though he didn’t place, #7 Tevanyan holds his spot in the rankings based on his head-to-head win over #8 Musukaev.
While Amir Yazdani did win world silver, he was on the opposite of the bracket from Tevanyan and Tumur-Ochir; making his path to the finals much easier. Because of that, Yazdani only rises to the #10 spot ahead of world bronze #11 Alibek Osmanov (KGZ).
