CSUB's freshman Chance Rich beat the red hot Sammy Alvarez. Rich debut's at #14 and Alvarez moves to #15, creating an even denser second half of the top 25. 

Another freshman debuts at #20 as Tye Varndell beat Mario Guillen to earn a spot in the rankings. Jarrett Trombley (also a freshman) asserted himself as the starter for NC State and earned a ranking when he won the Wolfpack Wrestling Club Open over Codi Russell.

The trio of first-years pushed Gary Joint, Louie Hayes, and Allan Hart out of the top 25.
