2019-20 NCAA DI Rankings

149 Austin O'Connor

Last season's finalists, Anthony Ashnault and Micah Jordan, are out of eligibility, opening up the top spot for sophomore Austin O'Connor.

Brock Zacherl and Boo Lewallen return from injuries and receive top 10 rankings based on their stellar resumes.

Debuting all the way up at #5 is Sammy Sasso, thanks to his wins over Pat Lugo and Alec Pantaleo at the 2018 Midlands. Slammin Sammy's only losses were to Micah Jordan and Jacori Teemer, the latter of which we have penciled in at 157 for next season.

Fellow redshirt freshman Brayton Lee also makes his NCAA rankings debut. The Minnesotan by way of Indiana checks in at #11. Lee defeated Sasso at the 70 kilogram junior world team trials, but those results aren't factored in here.

This weight class is incredibly deep, and getting deeper with the folks like Griffin Parriott moving down and Matt Findlay moving up. 25 wasn't even enough to contain all the quality competitors. Expect the likes of Tanner Smith, Jarod Verkleeren and others to make their presence known at some point this season, perhaps sooner than later.
