Blair Sets An Ironman Record

While Blair Academy (276.5) came up short of the all-time Ironman point record for a team (297), they did set another one as they became the first team to win by a 100pt. margin.

Wyoming Seminary was 2nd with 176.5.

Twelve of the fourteen Buccaneer starters walked away with a medal, including a nearly incomprehensible six finalists.

Seminary rolled out a line up with a lot of new faces from last year and continued their success. Nine placers and a champ for the Blue Knights. 

The biggest over achiever of Ironman was Bethlehem Catholic, who came in ranked 12th but showed both tournament strength and balance with 90pts - good enough to tie La Salle for 3rd. La Salle came in ranked 4th and are still missing two key starters.

St. Edward surprisingly had just two placers - Bryce Andonian was injured in his semi and defaulted to 6th and Sam Dover won it. Lake Highland also placed two and edged Ed's by a point and a half for 5th. 

Along with Bethlehem Catholic, St. John Bosco was the biggest mover. They came in ranked 14th but tied Montini for 9th - and they did it with zero points from the nation's #3-Sonny Santiago who was injured in his first match. Even a conservative point total for him moves Bosco to the Top 5 at Ironman.

Parkersburg South gets in for now, but almost all their points came from two guys. Similar situation for Olentangy Liberty who, other than their two champs, had just two other wrestlers win a bout. 

Broken Arrow was without several key upperweights due to football.

Clovis moves up after beating Buchanan at Clovis West Shootout. Clovis North was 4th there, impressive in that most of their top guys were at Ironman.
