Class of 2022 High School Big Board

2022 Big Board: DI Talent Emerging

The top of the board didn’t see any movement. The top five on the board took care of business in the postseason winning state and National Prep titles. NHSCA’s and UWW Cadet Trials are important events that this class appears to be missing out on. The lack of postseason national tournaments is going to limit some of the movement.

#1 Nic Bouzakis (PA) stays put with his National Prep title at 126lbs, and the most recent victory over #2 Ryan Crookham (PA) at Ironman back in December. I could see Crookham growing out of this rivalry. However, through the lense of a fan, I hope that doesn’t happen.

#10 Mac Stout was the biggest mover at the top finishing second in the PIAA AAA 170lb bracket. The bracket was the best weight throughout the country with five wrestlers in the top 12 in the weight class rankings. Stout bolstered a resume that included a second place finish in Fargo last summer at the Cadet level.

#22 Evan Mougalian (NJ) won the tough 106lb bracket in New Jersey to rocket up the board 40 spots. He was the biggest mover within the board.

#46 Braden Basile (FL) and #53 Zeth Romney (CA) are the two highest debuts on the board. Basile finished a one-loss season with a state championship win over #47 Brennan Van Hoecke (FL). Romney finished third in California behind Figueroa and #6 Joey Cruz (CA).
