2025-26 NCAA DI Wrestling Rankings
133 - Lucas Byrd
Ryan Crookham enters the rankings at #3 after making his season debut over the weekend. While Crookham has been inactive for over a year, his performance two years ago warrants his ranking. In the 2023-24 season, Crookham defeated Vito Arujau twice and went on to place 3rd at the 2024 NCAA Tournament. Beyond that, he also beat Evan Frost and only lost to Vito Arujau.
Drake Ayala drops to the #11 spot after losing to Zan Fugitt. Ayala also has losses this year to Ben Davino, Evan Frost, and Lucas Byrd. Beyond that, Ayala’s best win is over #26 Kade Moore. Fugitt stays at the #10 spot because of losses on the year to Ethan Berginc and Geronimo Rivera.
Jax Forrest makes his rankings debut at #9. This may come as a surprise to some but Forrest has collegiate results from his sophomore and freshman years of high school that allow him to be ranked. Two years ago, Forrest recorded wins over Luke Stanich (who was ranked #1 at 125 at the time and went on to All-American) and Jett Strickenberger (who went on to be a national qualifier). Beyond that, Forrest’s only losses at the collegiate level were to Sheldon Seymour and Matt Ramos - those came during Forrest's freshman year of high school.
Braxton Brown drops to #20 after losing to Sean Spidle. Brown’s previous win over Max Leete keeps him from falling further. Spidle stays at the #24 spot due to a previous loss this season to #23 Marcel Lopez.
Marlon Yarbrough comes into the rankings at the #27 spot after defeating #28 Troy Hohman.
