2023-24 NCAA Women's College Wrestling Rankings

1. Iowa is here. The Hawkeyes have made the big splash everyone expected and recently earned a #1 ranking in the NWCA Coaches Poll. In our first round of regular season rankings this year, the Hawkeyes hit the top spot in six of 10 weights. No other team has more than one. Iowa's top-ranked wrestlers: Sterling Dias, (101), Ava Bayless (109),  Felicity Taylor (123),  Reese Larramendy (143),  Marlynne Deede (155), and Kylie Welker (170). 

2. Returning national champ North Central still holds one #1 spot with Yele Aycock at 136. Aurora sophomore Alexis Janiak is #1 at 130. King’s Samara Chavez is #1 at 116 after winning an entertaining match against North Central’s Sydney Petzinger at the NWCA All-Star Classic, and Simon Fraser’s Julia Richey is #1 for the first time after an outstanding performance at the Missouri Valley Open.

3. Welcome, freshman! There’s been a ton of results already to warrant freshman hitting the rankings. Most notable are King freshman Virginia Foard #4 at 123, McKendree’s Alex Szkotnicki #5 at 136, Elmira’s Zoey Lints #5 at 143, and Iowa’s Haley Ward #2 at 170.

4. Results also include the NWCA All-Star Classic, the Missouri Valley Open, and a host of Opens.

5. Please note that we do not rank more than two women from the same school, as the rankings reflect the NCAA postseason, where no more than two women are allowed to enter per weight. That said, there were several weights where programs like Iowa, North Central, King, and McKendree had enough rankable candidates for three in the top ten, but we had to remove the lowest-ranked wrestler.
