Ranked #10 pound-for-pound and #3 in the nation at 182, Barr placed fifth in the freestyle at 79 kg U20 division at the recent U.S. Open. There, he lost only to Luca Augustine (twice), an NCAA qualifier for Pittsburgh last season.

However, the four-time state champion also knocked off four current college wrestlers who finished a combined 63-31 last season, including George Mason's Logan Messer, who placed fourth in the MAC and Iowa State's M.J. Gaitan, a past Super 32 winner and U20 Pan-Am silver medalist.

During the past 18 months, Barr has also beaten Rocco Welsh (#9 pound-for-pound, #2 at 170),  Joseph Sealey (#14 pound-for-pound, #2 at 160), Noah Mulvaney (#7 at 182), Braeden Scoles (#3 at 160) and Dylan Newsome (#17 at 170). Barr finished with a 128-1 high school record and is #7 on the national Class of 2023 Big Board.

Gilcher, ranked #5 at 152 and #23 on the 2023 Big Board, bested Ty Watters (#6 at 152) at the Pittsburgh Classic soon after finishing his high school career with a 140-4 record.

The four-time state champion has also beaten current 2023 NCAA qualifiers Ryan Jack (North Carolina State) and Jore Volk (Wyoming). Jack is ranked #10 at 141 and Volk #16 at 125. Gilcher has also beaten Tyler Kasak (#8 pound-for-pound, #1 at 145), Ryder Block (#2 at 138), Cooper Haase (#11 at 152) and Collin Gaj (#6 at145). 

Horwath (#30), Braeden Davis (#42), Milani (#55) and Cotton (#81) also appear on the 2023 national Big Board.
