Ohio High School Wrestling Mini Boards

Class of 2023

Back in March, Ohio had an extremely entertaining state tournament. All the seniors listed in the top 10 left an everlasting stamp on their home state. Joey Blaze is the easy #1 in the class of 2023. Blaze was the 2022 Super 32 champ beating several top nationally-ranked wrestlers. He is also a three-time Division 1 State Champ, a very select group of wrestlers. The COVID cancellation year was his freshman year, taking away his chances to win 4. Brock Herman was an exciting wrestler to rank. He did not wrestle in 2022 after finishing in second place in 2021. He finds himself so high on the list after defeating Ty Wilson in the state championship, and several College Open wins.

Other strong wrestlers include Camden McDanel, who just won U20s in Las Vegas, putting himself in the driver's seat to make a World team. McDanel also won Ironman this past year and won his first state title. Dylan Russo falls right behind him as the second three-time state champ on the list. The only other three-time state champ is Division 3 three-timer, Max Hermes of Edison. Hermes checks in at the #7 spot. Potentially joining Russo at Oklahoma is Dylan Newsome, a three-time top 3 placer in Ohio, capturing the gold this past March.
