We knew we’d see a showdown between two of the nation’s best guys at this weight, Cerchio, and Queen, but it came in the first week of the season. In the opening round, it was Cerchio who prevailed with a dominant 10-1 win and the Beast of the East title. 

Other notes from Beast include Max Nevlin taking out Dan Rella in the consolation semis on his way to a fourth-place finish while Rella finished in sixth.
