A native of Janesville, Iowa, Riggins was a runner up at the Fargo junior freestyle nationals in 2021. Wiggins showed a prowess for freestyle and greco as a youth, winning double titles at the Iowa freestyle and greco state tournament in 2016. Riggins also finished third at the Southern Plains regional that same year. Riggins success continued into middle school winning the Denver middle school tournament and finishing as the runner up at the Conflict at Carver, and USAW preseason nationals.
