For the third week in a row the Iowa Hawkeyes faced an opponent ranked in the top three. The two previous weekends they fell to #1 Oklahoma State on the road and then to #2 Penn State at home.
This week #4 Iowa hosted #3 Ohio State in another Big Ten battle. Neither team was at full strength as the Buckeyes were without Olympic Champion Kyle Snyder who was busy winning the Yarygin over in Siberia, no big deal! Iowa was missing NCAA Runner-Up Cory Clark.
