Decorah High School Re: Decorah JV Wrestling Tournament Date: Monday, February 6, 2017 Location: Decorah High School Time: 5:00 PM Entry Fee: $5 Per Wrestler or $50 Per Team Teams Competing: Charles City, Jesup, Osage, Crestwood, MFL-MarMac, Postville, Waukon, Decorah, New Hampton, Riceville, East Buchanan, North Fayette Valley, Saint Ansgar, Independence, Oelwein, South Winn, Wapsie Valley ?Weigh-ins will be completed at each school and send veri cation to Decorah High School by 1:00 pm on Monday, February 6th. Initial lineups will be submitted via Track Wrestling by Friday, February 3rd at 2:00 pm so we can check the number of wrestlers entered. You should receive an email from Track Wrestling after February 1st. We will place wrestlers into 4-man brackets according to weight and record. Brackets with wrestlers from the same school will be avoided when possible. ?Locker Room Assignments are as follows: Boys PE Locker Room ? Riceville, South Winn, Oelwein, Waukon, Postville, Crestwood, North Fayette Valley Girls PE Locker Room ? Independence, MFL/Mar-Mac, Charles City, Jesup, East Buchanan, New Hampton, Osage ?There will be a brief coaches meeting at 4:45 in the wrestling room. ?Due to limited space, we will request no cheerleaders for this tournament. ?All matches will wrestle 2-1-1 time periods. ?Four mats will be used and matches will be called to be wrestled on the next available mat throughout the evening. ALL Mats will be in the main gym. ?The winner of each bracket will receive a medal. ?Criteria for winning a bracket will be as follows. 1. Overall Record 2. Black points system 10 Points ? win by pin, default, forfeit or disquali cation 9 Points ? win by technical fall 8 Points ? win by major decision 7 Points ? win by regular decision 3 Points ? loss by regular decision 2 Points ? loss by major decision 1 Points ? loss by technical fall 0 Points ? loss by pin, default, forfeit or disquali cation 3. If a wrestler does not win all three matches, then steps one through eight will be used and the total number of points scored after three rounds determines 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place. 4. In the event of a tie the winner is determined by the previous head to head competition. 5. If a tie still remains, the greater number of pins in the least amount of time will determine the winner. We look forward to a fun and rewarding night in which we get our kids one last opportunity to get some match- es in before the end of the year.
