Sheridan Wrestling 14th Annual Pool Tournament For the past fourteen (14) years we have put on a very successful Pool Wrestling Tournament. We switched from the normal 8/16 man bracket, to everybody wrestles everybody; let the wrestlers wrestle everybody* in the bracket tournament. THIS IS A VARSITY TOUNRAMENT ONLY - NO EXTRAS/JV WRESTLERS WILL BE ALLOWED The brackets run from 3 to 10 wrestlers depending on the number of wrestlers at each weight class. If there are more than 6 wrestlers in a weight class, they get divided into 2 pools, a blue pool and a grey pool. The top 2 wrestlers out of each pool will wrestle for 1st or 3rd place. We separate the top wrestlers based on last years Regional and State Tournament placing, then use overall record on the current year (6 match minimum). Any loosing records are drawn in. In the end we let the results play out (i.e. Freestyle Tournaments). For Weight Classes with 11 or more wrestlers we will split the top 10 wrestlers based on State/Regional Placing and Records. The remaining wrestlers will be placed in a Red Pool with the same format. This letter is to invite your team to participate in our wrestling tournament. Your wrestlers will be guaranteed 3 matches. The Tournament date is set for Saturday, December 16th, 2017. The cost of the tournament is $250.00. Medals are given to the top four place finishers and plaques to the top three teams. We will present 2 outstanding wrestler awards, one to the lower weights (106-140) and the other to the upper weights (145-HWT) as well as plaques for the fastest pin and most pins in least amount of time. An outstanding hospitality room will be provided. Contracts are due ASAP so we can ensure that the proper number of teams are in the tournament.
