NORTH REGIONAL GIRLS WRESTLING CIF SAC-JOAQUIN SECTION/LES SCHWAB TIRES NORTH REGIONAL GIRLS WRESTLING TOURNAMENT Dates and Location Dates: February 2 and 3, 2018 Location: Natomas High School Directions ? From I-5: Take I-80 east (to Reno), near Arco Arena. Take the Truxel Road exit and go south to San Juan Road (school will be on your left). Turn left (east) on San Juan. School is at corner of San Juan and Fong Ranch Road. ? From I-80 west of Sacramento: Just east of I-5 is the Truxel Road exit. Take that exit and go south to San Juan Road (school will be on your left). Turn left (east) on San Juan. School is at corner of San Juan and Fong Ranch Road. ? From I-80 east of Sacramento: Stay on I-80 to San Francisco (Do not take Bus. 80). Take the Truxel Road exit and go south to San Juan Road (school will be on your left). Turn left (east) on San Juan. Parking The Parking lot in the front of the school is available for coaches and parents. Please do not park in any gated areas or in non-designated parking spots. Coaches and wrestlers should remain in close proximity to the arena in order to be ready for each match. A. Entry Fees/Registration The entry fee for the 2018 North Regional Girls Wrestling Invitational is $20.00 per wrestler. All wrestlers must register through their school by the deadline of Tuesday, January 30, 2018. If you register a wrestler you will be obligated to pay for that wrestler. No refunds will be given for overpaid checks. Please do not mail checks to the host site or the section office. All checks should be hand delivered on the day of the event. Make checks payable to: CIF Sac-Joaquin Section B. Registration Procedure 1. Registration will be on trackwrestling.com. 2. Only one wrestler per weight class per school. 3. Registration deadline is Tuesday, January 30th at midnight. 4. Please make sure to include the seeding criteria for each wrestler. 5. On Wednesday, January 31st you will be able to go on trackwrestling.com and input your head to head results. This will be critical for seeding. If you do not fill this out, the seeding committee will not be able to guarantee that your head to head results will be considered for seeding. C. Seeding Meeting 1. The seeding meeting is open to all coaches but attendance is not required to get an athlete seeded. The meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 1 at the Round Table Pizza located at 3291 Truxel Road. D. Wrestler Eligibility 1. The CIF Sac-Joaquin Section North Regional Girls Wrestling Invitational is open to all girls who compete at a North Sac-Joaquin Section or Northern Section school. For the purposes of this event the following SJS leagues are designated as ?North? leagues: SFL, Delta, MEL, CVC, Metro, SCAC, CAL, TCC, SVC, PVL, GEL, SDL, CVCL, NPAC, SMAL 2. Girls must have completed the Weight Assessment Program and be on the school?s NWCA PreMatch Weigh-In Form. 3. Athletes must be eligible according to CIF, league and local school rules, including the minimum 10 days of practice. 4. Athletes must be accompanied by a certified coach from their school. 5. Schools may enter no more than one wrestler per weight class. 6. If an athlete does not make weight, she may NOT bump up to a higher classification. E. Check-In Check-in is from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on Friday, February 2. F. Weigh-Ins and Groom Check 1. Scales will be made available to check weights beginning at 8:15 a.m. on both Friday and Saturday. Absolutely NO dehydration activities will be allowed in the weigh-in area (small gym). All wrestlers must be in the weigh-in area by 9:00 a.m. The weigh-ins will begin at 9:00 a.m. sharp and continue until the last weight class has weighed in. Groom check will be performed before a wrestler weighs in. (If you leave the weigh-in area during weigh-ins you will not be allowed to return to the weigh-in area.) 2. Per CIF and NFHS rules, all wrestlers must be in the weight in room prior to the weigh-ins beginning. Any wrestler not in the room prior to the beginning of weigh-ins will not be able to enter the weigh-in area. 3. Wrestlers must weigh-in wearing suitable undergarments. Suitable undergarments are defined as garments that cover the chest and buttocks area. If the weighmaster feels that your wrestler is not following this rule, they will be disqualified from the tournament. G. Competition Weigh-in Form Each coach is required to bring his/her team?s Competition Weigh-in Form to the Sac-Joaquin Section Regional Girls Wrestling Invitational. Tournament officials will retain all forms. PENALTY: Failure to comply will result in the entire team being ineligible to compete and charged with forfeiture. H. Weight Classes The following weight classes will be in effect for the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section/Les Schwab Tires Girls Wrestling Regional. Note: The 2-pound growth allowance will be used in accordance with the National Federation Wrestling rules (Rule 4-4-4). In addition, there will be a 1-pound allowance for Saturday morning weigh-ins (Rule 4-5-5). 101 pounds 106 pounds, 111 pounds, 116 pounds, 121 pounds, 126 pounds, 131 pounds, 137 pounds, 143 pounds, 150 pounds, 160 pounds, 170 pounds, 189 pounds, 235 pounds I. Rules The National Federation 2017-18 Wrestling Rules Book will be the official rules for the tournament, except for the adopted weight classes and other Sac-Joaquin Section and State CIF rules. J. Team Scoring Scoring will follow National Federation 2017-18 Wrestling Rules Book regulations (Rule 9-2-3). K. Coaches? Matside Seating A maximum of two certified team coaches will be permitted in the restricted mat area. Chairs will be provided and coaches are to remain in those chairs. Only one coach may approach the scoring table. Only those coaches with proper wristbands will be permitted at matside. L. Coaches? Passes Coaches from participating schools will receive a quantity of wristbands based upon the number of wrestlers representing their schools. 1-2 wrestlers = 2 coaches? wristbands 3-9 wrestlers = 3 coaches? wristbands 10+ wrestlers = 4 coaches? wristbands Please do not ask for extra coaches? wristbands. Lost wristbands will not be replaced. Only those coaches with properly displayed wristbands will be permitted matside. As a common courtesy, head coaches are ultimately responsible to purchase extra tickets at the gate for non-participating teammates, statkeepers or other team supporters. M. Statkeepers Each school will be allowed 1 statkeeper for free admission. N. Admission Prices Adults ? $10.00 Students ? $5.00 Note: Food, beverages and ice chests will NOT be allowed into the Natomas gymnasium. All backpacks will be searched. O. Passes 1. No league, district, school, NCOA or Section silver passes will be honored. 2. Only Section black PLAYOFF passes, Section red MEDIA passes, State courtesy cards and State or Section Gold Lifetime passes will be honored. P. Warm-up Area There will be a warm up area available. When wrestlers are sent to a mat, they will be expected to be ready to wrestle! Q. Uniforms All athletes competing in the championships must wear their high school uniform. Uniforms of all team members must be identical. Unless specifically approved by tournament management, the wearing of sweatsuits, T-shirts or any clothing representing any organization, corporation or business, college or university is strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification. R. Weight-Class Pairings Seedings for the weight classes will be done by a committee formed by the tournament director. S. Spectators The CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Regional Championships are conducted under the strictest code of good sportsmanship. Rooters are encouraged to support their own school?s representative, and are expected to refrain from booing the opponents or the officials? decisions. Banners will not be permitted inside the gymnasium. T. Ice Chests Due to limited space in the bleachers, NO ice chests will be allowed in the main gym. There will be space available in the small gym for ice chests if needed. U. Folding Chairs Due to fire marshal recommendations, we must keep all walkways and the front of the bleachers clear of all folding chairs. Folding chairs will only allowed in the small gym/warm-up area. V. Awards Team Awards: A championship pennant will be awarded to the 1st place team. A plaque will be awarded to the 2nd place team. Individual Awards: All qualifiers to the Section Championships (top 8) will receive a medal. X. Section Championships The top eight place winners in each weight class (no alternates) will qualify to the Section Championships held at McNair High School on February 16 and 17, 2018.
