2014 NSAA CLASS A-1 District Wrestling NORFOLK SENIOR HIGH SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2014 Tournament Director - Dennis Dolliver dennisdolliver@npsne.org 402-640-9231. Competing Schools: Grand Island, Lincoln Pius X, Millard North, Norfolk, North Platte, Omaha Bryan, Omaha Westside and Papillion-LaVista TO ALL COACHES & CONTESTANTS: Norfolk High School welcomes you to the A-1 District Wrestling. We are looking forward to the friendly, but intense competition. It is hoped that you will enjoy the occasion. NO COOLERS IN THE GYMNASIUM PLEASE ENTRIES: The district entries should be submitted no later than the Monday preceding the District tournament (February 10, 2014). Any changes must be made by 6:00pm Wednesday, February 12, 2014. The entries will be submitted through the coach?s login on the NWCA/Trackwrestling - OPC (the weight management program) into the Trackwrestling tournament software. Instructions will be sent via email directly from Trackwrestling which will include a link as well as instructions for entering those individuals. The entries automatically sent to the district host. REMINDER: The individual results of each wrestler must be entered into the NWCA results database prior to the District seeding meeting. At the time of the district tournament seeding meeting coaches must be prepared to verify each of their entries seasonal weigh-in record. If it is discovered anytime after the start of the district competition that an individual?s record was not correct, or that the wrestler competed at a weight class below his/her minimum weight class during the season, the wrestler will be disqualified from any further competition in either the district or the state tournament. Minimum Weight Classes: You will need to bring a copy of the Pre-Match Weigh-In form for Districts for their entire team to the seeding meeting. They should include all members of the team. A wrestler must have at least one weigh-in prior to the district tournament. They may not count the weigh-in at the district tournament as the first weigh-in. Physician Onsite for Weigh-Ins: It is the requirement of the NSAA that a physician or physician assistant be present for first day weigh-ins. National Federation Rule 4-2-4 states: If an onsite meet physician is present, he/she may overrule the diagnosis of the physician signing the Physician Release form for a wrestler to participate with a particular skin condition. PASSES: 24 Administrator, Coaches, Wrestlers and Student Managers passes will be mailed. If you do not have a pass you will have to pay admission. (Passes will be collected at the door upon arrival). ADMISSION: $8.00 Adults and $6.00 Students TIME SCHEDULE: First round - 10:00 AM Wrestling will be continuous until conclusion with the exception of a short break for lunch. DRESSING ROOMS: All teams will be in the PE locker room. HOSPITALITY ROOM: Coaches and officials hospitality room is located in the CAFETERIA. Lunch will be provided for coaches, officials, and adult workers in the CAFETERIA. OFFICIALS: Austin Coufal, Doug Hoops, Chad Martinez, Travis Stutzman CONCESSIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE AWARDS: Plaques will be presented to the champion and the runner-up teams. Medals will be presented to the first four place winners in each weight class. TEAM SCORING: Will be according to the NSAA guidelines WEIGH-INS: 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM NEBRASKA RULES (ONE SCALE) SEEDING: All coaches will meet in CAFETERIA at 8:00 AM (PLEASE BE PROMPT). CRITERIA: 1. HEAD TO HEAD 2. COMMON OPPONENT 3. POINT SYSTEM AS FOLLOWS IF STEPS 1 & 2 DON?T DETERMINE SEED. A. 1 PT. RETURNING STATE QUALIFIER B. 1 PT. RETURNING STATE MEDALIST C. .5 PT. WINNING % DIFF 0-5% D. 1 PT. WINNING % DIFF 5.1-10% E. 1.5 PT. WINNING % DIFF 10.1% 4.IF POINTS ARE TIED, DRAW THOSE TIED. 5.IF THERE ARE 3 OR MORE PEOPLE TIED IN STEPS A & B, GO TO POINT SYSTEM. AFTER ONE PERSON SHAKES OUT, THEN GO BACK TO STEP A HEAD TO HEAD 6.DRAW THE BYES 7.THEN PLACE LOSING RECORDS BY PERCENTAGE
