`The 13th Annual APPLE CIDER CLASSIC HOSTS: Watsonville High School, 250 East Beach Street, Watsonville, CA 95076 WHEN: Friday & Saturday, January 7th and 8th, 2022 FORMAT: Dual meet portion Friday. 16 teams wrestle in a closed bracket dual meet tournament on Friday (every team will wrestle 4 to 5 matches). Individual tournament Saturday. 32 man individual tournament bracket double elimination, five match rule applied in consolations. Extra wrestlers will be accepted only one per weight, over 14 wrestlers pay $40.00 per wrestler. Details will be on Trackwrestling tournament site under information. WEIGH-INS: Weigh-ins for Friday January 7th will start at 10:00 AM. Weigh-ins conducted as a team by order of check in. CIF adopted weights with 2 lbs January growth allowance. Weigh-ins for Saturday January 8th will start at 7:00 AM. Weigh-ins conducted as a team by order of check in. CIF adopted weights with 2 lbs January growth allowance plus 1 lb for second day of competition. WRESTLING BEGINS ON FRIDAY AT 12:00PM, 4 ROUNDS WITH NO BREAKS. SATURDAY WRESTLING BEGINS AT 9:30 AM AND CONTINUES WITHOUT A BREAK THROUGH THE FINALS ON 6 MATS. FINALS AT 6:30 PM. SEEDING: Will be done by Track wrestling (Contact information is critical for Track wrestling) FOOD: A full snack bar and barbecue will be open for both days of the tournament. AWARDS: Awards ceremony for both days of wrestling will immediately follow the conclusion of the last match. Top 4 teams and top 8 individuals, T-shirts to all champions, 2 outstanding wrestlers. All athletes must mount the podium to receive individual awards. FEE: $375.00 per team for both days, Friday or Saturday only $275.00.
