COMMANDO CRUSH INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT Coaches, I want to thank you for your patience. I had intended to host a one-day tourney, but there were so many requests (and I am still getting some) that I considered making it a two-day tournament. I had to work through some logistical issues at the school in order to host an annual two-day tournament but I was unable to reach an agreement with basketball to host that kind of tournament every year, so I have decided to make it an annual one-day tournament. On January 12th. We have about twenty-six schools that have expressed an interest in entering and so in order to accommodate all the requests, I have worked out a format that will give everyone at least three matches. Because of the number of matches, I will not be able to include JV and Freshman in the tournament. I hope this will not prevent you from coming but with the strength of this tourney we will have to concentrate on varsity for now. We will host a girls event on Friday night and if we need to we will run the girls finals on Saturday. Schools currently participating are: Hendersonville, Hunter?s Lane, North East, West Creek, Nolensville, Spring Hill, East Magnet, Rossview, Lebanon, Greenbrier, Centennial, Overton, Northwest, Kenwood, Franklin, MLK, Brentwood Academy, Cheathum Co, Dickson Co, Tullahoma, Caldwell Co, Fort Campbell, Ravenwood, Summit, Clarksville, and Clarksville Ac. Varsity Schedule We will weigh in at 7:30am ? 8:00am Scratch meeting will be right after weigh-ins Wrestling should begin @ 9am. Wrestling will continue until finished. Girls Schedule Weigh in at 3:30 ? 4:00 Scratch meeting will be right after weigh-ins Wrestling should begin @ 4:30 Varsity Format The first round will consist of four pools of six for each weight class. The pools will be seeded and the first and second seed will get byes first round. After that we will wrestle through the pools to determine 1st-4th in each pool. In Round two the wrestlers who placed first and second will be pitted against each other all first place pool winners in a bracket and all second place pool winners in another bracket and placement will be determined by these brackets. I will provide detailed bracket information later once I know who will be coming. If a weight class bracket is not full I will modify that particular weight class. Eight wrestlers in each weight will get five matches the others will get three. Girls Format Depending on the number of girls entered we will either create a round robin or straight bracket tourney. This will be determined once we see how many entries we have. Details The entry fee will be $150 varsity tournament $5 per girl up to $60 for a team Each team will get three hospitality passes Medals will be given to the top four boys varsity and the top two girls. Team plaques will be given to the top three boys varsity and the girls champion team Varsity seeding meeting will be Friday Jan 11 at 6:30pm in the school lecture room.
