Semifinals and consolations 5th place matches Finals and 3rd place matches Wrestlebacks............(as necessary w/ 45 min. between matches) OFFICIALS: Mark Helgeson (Head Official), Mike Linehan WEIGH-INS: Weigh-ins take place in the gym (9:30 A.M.) COACHES? MTG. Held one-half hour after weigh-ins begin (9:30 A.M.) per WIAA rules. The meeting will be held in the Distance Learning room. MATS: Two mats will be used throughout the day. Only wrestlers and two coaches will be allowed in this area. A third person will be allowed with a camera ONLY. (Please physical distance). No cheerleaders are allowed per WIAA. MATCHES: All matches will be run in order, beginning at 106 lbs, unless a match cannot be wrestled in order to give adequate wait time between matches for a wrestler. Championship semifinals and consolation will be wrestled at the same time. All championship and placement matches will be 2-2-2. WIAA RULES GOVERNING COMPETITION: LINEUP ENTRY: Use the Trackwrestling online entry form found at www.trackwrestling.com. A notification email will be sent to your school Lineups must be submitted by Thursday, January 28 at 11:59 p.m. Head-to-head competition can be entered on Friday, January 29 until 11:59 p.m. BRING ? 7% PRINTOUTS: copies of 7% printouts containing the most recent data on each wrestler that may be entered in the regional. BRING ? WEIGH-IN SHEETS: from all meets the team participated in during the two weeks prior to the WIAA Regional Meet. Coaches must print the weigh-in sheets from Trackwrestling for the tournament date to bring to the weigh-ins. Deadline - Enter trackwrestling by Thursday, January 28, 2021: www.trackwrestling.com COVID SPECIFIC: A tracing sheet and verification form shall be kept of all individuals traveling with the team to the contest verifying that the traveling party has been prescreened that day before departure. Masks must be worn properly at all times. Wrestlers will be allowed on the mats to warm-up from 10:00-10:15. Each team should stay in a specific area. At 10:15 all wrestlers must exit the mats so they can be disinfected. Wrestlers will not be allowed on the mats between rounds as they will be disinfected. Please review the Independence Athletic Expectations for Wrestling Regional. This will be strictly enforced. REGIONAL SEEDING MEETING: As per the WIAA regulations given on the WIAA website. www.wiaawi.org TEAM ROOMS: Teams will be assigned to rooms/areas as designated below. Boys? Locker Room - Aquinas Girls? Locker Room - Whitehall Weight Room - Indee/Gilmanton Choir Room - Cochrane-Fountain City Stage - Blair-Taylor WAITING AREAS: Wrestlers and team personnel will be assigned to designated areas in the east bleachers. They are to remain in these areas unless they are wrestling, showering, or going to their team area. We will have small warm-up mats in team rooms or at another designated area.. TOWELS, SOAP Showers will be available for wrestlers to shower between matches and it is & SHOWERS: highly recommended that they do so. Coaches we encourage you to promote that your wrestlers shower between matches or use disinfectant wipes. We will allow two male wrestlers in a shower room at a time. There will be another shower available for female wrestlers. There will be privacy curtains in the showers. We encourage wrestlers and teams to bring their own soap, and enough towels so they can use a clean one for each shower. We will have soap dispensers in the showers and maybe some additional towels if needed. SINGLETS: It is also recommended by the WIAA and highly encouraged that wrestlers change singlets between matches. TICKET PRICES: All sessions Child/Adults/Students $7.00 Finals Child/Adults/Students $6.00 Children Under 6 $1.00 Spectators must bring a ticket issued by their home school and then pay at the door. When one mat is idle, focus will be on the other mat. ADMISSION POLICY: TEAMS Each school shall be allowed free admission for up to 14 wrestlers, 1 manager, 1 head coach, 1 assistant coach. Per WIAA there are no cheerleaders. Two free admissions will also be allowed for personnel designated by each school. SPECTATORS Each school will issued two tickets to each participating wrestler and coach to distribute as they wish. A ticket template will be sent to each school and we would prefer each school print their tickets in their school colors. If you have any issues with the template please contact us. Spectators must then present the ticket and pay at the door. They will then receive a wristband as proof of payment and admission. AWARDS: Plaque to team champion. Place finishers will be recognized on a podium and champions will receive a chart. Masks must be worn when on the podium. Only one person per wrestler allowed to take pictures. SCORING: Placement points will be awarded as follows: 16 points to the champion 12 points to the runner-up 9 points to the third place wrestler 7 points to the fourth place wrestler 5 points to the fifth place wrestler 3 points to the sixth place wrestler Activity points will be earned as follows: 2 points for a fall, DQ, default, or forfeit 1.5 points for a technical fall (15 or more point advantage) 1 point for a major decision (8-14 point advantage) Full activity points will be awarded for byes providing the wrestler wins his next match. Advancement points will be awarded as follows: 2 points for advancement in the championship bracket 1 point for advancement in wrestlebacks for 3rd place. 0 points for consolation matches. No adv. Points are awarded for final placement matches (except 3rd) Full adv. points will be awarded for byes providing the wrestler wins his next match. LUNCH: Provided for all coaches and officials in the hospitality room. Lunches will be served individually to coaches and officials AND IS LIMITED ONLY TO COACHES, OFFICIALS, and TOURNAMENT WORKERS. Coaches and workers may then eat physically distanced in the cafeteria, their waiting area, or team room. CONCESSIONS: There will be no concessions available on the grounds. Carry in beverages will be allowed. MEDICAL CARE: A certified trainer will be available throughout the day.
