Qualifications: AL Resident; Beginner (1st year wrestler); minimum of Limited Folkstyle USAW membership Beginners will be allowed to wrestle only in one weight class for the Beginners State Tournament. Weigh-in will take place at the competition venue, there will be a 1 pound weight allowance, and competitors must weigh-in in a singlet. The Beginner State Championship use wrestle backs for second place finish. Brackets will not be seeded. Wrestlers MUST pre-register for event. There will be NO late additions after registration closes. There will be a $25.00 re-bracketing fee if a wrestler has to be moved. There are no requirements of wrestling in sanctioned Team AL wrestling tournaments. Registration for the Beginners youth State Championship will cost $17.00. Late registration will cost $22.00. Registration DEADLINE: Friday January 25th at 2:00 pm Weigh in times: There will be NO manual registrations allowed on Tournament Saturday. Kindergarten ? 2nd : 7:45 am to 8:30 am 3rd ? 4th : 10:15 am to 11:00am 5th ? 6th : 12:45 pm to 1:30 pm MANDATORY PRE-REGISTRATION Please note that wrestlers will need their USA Card and Trackwrestling number to pre-register. Tournament Fee is paid online. For the Blue-Gold Challenge each wrestler may compete in two weight classes and they can register to compete in the next age group. Wrestlers must choose to compete in EITHER Beginner or Advanced brackets (wrestlers will NOT be permitted to compete in both). There will be no Beginners Brackets for the Blue-Gold Challenge. Any wrestler who fails to pre-register will not be able to compete in the tournament. Registration for the Blue/Gold Classic will cost $15.00. Late registration will cost $20.00. Entrance fees are Adults 7.00 Children 5.00 Normal Registration DEADLINE: Friday January 25th at 9:00 am Late Registration: 9:01am to 2:00 pm Pre-Register Now! SATELLITE WEIGH-IN (For Blue/Gold Challenge ONLY) NOTE: Make sure the wrestlers are grouped by age division on weigh in sheet. We encourage and fully expect our coaches and club representatives to demonstrate integrity in the weigh-in process. Each Club will weigh in their wrestlers on Thursday night after practice or by Friday before the noon deadline. The Wrestler?s weight will be written on his left arm by a coach or club representative. The coach will then email the official weigh-in document to the Tournament Director and Team Alabama Youth Director by the noon deadline on Friday morning. The only document that will be accepted for satellite weigh in will be the one provided by the Track Wrestling Director. If you do not have a copy please e-mail him. The Tournament Director will match the Club Weigh-in Document to the Trackwrestling Pre-Registration Data to ensure all wrestlers are in the correct bracket. Coaches must maintain a visible USA Card to be allowed on the mats and in the hospitality room. Only two coaches are allowed in the corner during a match.
