Individual Wrestling Championships
Saturday, February 17th
Chesnee High School is honored to serve as the host for this year’s A-AA Upper State individual wrestling championships. We look forward to making it a worthy and enjoyable competition for all athletes and coaches.

Register your wrestlers using the link provided.
Teams need to enter the wrestlers overall record and if they were a previous state placer/qualifier when entering their wrestlers.
Registration is open now and I have it set to close 2/12 @ 11:30 PM.
Seeding Meeting: Virtual/Chesnee High, Tuesday, February 13th at 10:00 am in the Media Center. Coaches should report the front of the school and enter through the main office.
Seeding Criteria:
To be seeded in the tournament wrestler must have wrestled at least 10 matches during the season.
•10 match minimum
•Winning percentage
•Head to head matchups, with-in 10% of the same winning percentage.
In the event of a tie the criteria will be as follows
1. Previous state placer
2. Previous state qualifier
3. Overall consensus of seed committee
Upper State Tournament: Saturday, February 17, 2023 at 10:00am
Entry Fee: The cost to enter the Upper State individual wrestling championships is $150. Please make checks payable to Chesnee High School and note the check as Upper State Wrestling Championships. Please bring checks with you to the tournament if not sent in advance.
Tournament Details: Four (4) regulation mats will be utilized for the duration of the tournament. Two in the main gym and two in the “old” gym. All qualifying matches will be held in the main gym (Championship semis, blood round and beyond). The top four (4) finishers in each weight class will be recognized at the end of the tournament, with medals being awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Champions will receive their tournament bracket as a keepsake.
Weigh-ins: Weigh-ins will begin at 9:00 am-9:45 pm in the auditorium.
Wrestling is scheduled to start at 10:00am.
Locker Rooms: Locker rooms will be available for wrestlers’ to change as needed. Locker rooms will be closed and locked following weigh-ins.
Medical Staff: Athletic trainers will be on site throughout the duration of the tournament as needed for medical aid.
Bus Parking: Bus parking will be in the student parking lot towards the football fields. Buses will drop off all wrestlers and coaches in the bus loop/gym entrance. Teams will need to enter through the gymnasium entrance (see picture below). A staff member and/or signs will be posted to assist as needed.
Concessions: A full concession stand will be available.
Hospitality room: Coaches will get tickets upon check in to use at concessions. Trash Bag will be given to each team to help with trash in the team area.
Coolers and outside food: No coolers and or outside food will be allowed for fans. We will have areas designated for team coolers
Information for Wrestling Program: Send a team picture or action picture and your rosters. List students by their weight class on your rosters. Send this information to andrew.lake@spart2.org as soon as possible.
Livestreaming: The event will be livestreamed. Additional information will be provided at the seeding meeting.
We ask that your team place all trash in the trash cans after they eat.
