Reverence Ironman

Info

SCUSAW/USAW Members, Clubs, and Coaches,

Reminder that this upcoming weekend, we’ll be hosting the Reverence Ironman Tournament at May River High School in Bluffton, SC.   The tournament will host all 3 styles (Free, Folk, Greco) and we’ll have a 6-Mat Layout.  We’ve invited clubs from other states, so we’re hoping we’ll have a good mix of competition across all age groups and styles.   REMINDER, NO WALK-UP REGISTRATIONS – SEE BELOW.

Format:

  1. Weigh-In at your local SCUSAW Club on Thursday evening, 6/15.  Clubs should register their athletes by Thursday Evening in arena.flowrestling.org.  For question, issues, or if you want to wrestle in this tournament, but are not affiliated with a club, then contact info@reverencewrestling.com or Gova at vervyncktg@gmail.com.   For Club Leaders/Coaches, utilize the attached spreadsheet (Attachment #1) to weigh-in your athletes and keep track of them for entering into Flo.   If your club is not built in Flo, the Club Leader should utilize the directions in (Attachment # 2) to build the club and then to build your athlete into the tournament.  For SCUSAW Club Coaches = Your club name in Flo should be the same exact name as it is on your USA Wrestling Club charter when building your club in Flo.   Club leaders should bring cash to the event equal to their # of registrants to finalize their registrations before the tournament begins.
  2. All registrations will be loaded and Madison Style Weight Groupings in age divisions will be built.  Since this is a developmental tournament, our goal is to provide at least a few matches per athlete per style.  Goal = 5 Man Round Robin Brackets where weight/age combinations allow for such format.  We’re also hoping to have girls only brackets.  So female athletes, please register.   Athletes get all three styles for the price in the flyer, but no discounts are provided for only wrestling one style.
  3. Old Man Mash – During the breaks between styles, if you’re 19 or older, out of HS and would like a matchup, then please email info@reverencewrestling.com and we’ll work to get you aligned with a match.  Must have a USA Wrestling card.

ALL WEIGH INS FOR SCUSAW LOCAL EVENTS (NOT STATE EVENTS) ARE DONE WITH YOUR LOCAL CLUB ON THURSDAY NIGHT! every sanctioned club is responsible to weigh there athletes in on Thursday and enter them in through the system that is sent out by Gova Chrobocinski every week. A club representative must bring the payment for all athletes to the tournament the morning of prior to start at 10am. The only way that you can weigh in at the event is if you do not have a club and your card says UNATTACHED, Even if the head coach is not I’m going to the event they ARE STILL responsible to weigh you in and send a representative with a check(we are working on setting up a Venmo now) If you have any questions please contact me ASAP.

This system was created to eliminate the waisted time the morning of the event, with the state being so broadly open and most tournaments being 2 to 3 hours away from clubs this allows coaches to drive up morning of at a decent time. We also release brackets Friday night so you can see how many people are in your bracket. (I myself will be heading to Valhalla this weekend which is close to four hours away and if I had to make a 7 to 8 AM weigh in we would have to leave at 3am, this isn’t feasible with the old system, now it is as we leave at 6am)

This way also makes it easier and more relaxed as athletes are bracketed in group weight so no one has to worry about weight loss as it is just developmental tournaments.

ALL STATE EVENTS  WILL BE WEIGHED IN AT THE EVENT ONLY!
