Shelby Moore Commits To McKendree
Senior Shelby Moore, the overall #2 prep recruit in the nation, will attend McKendree University next fall.
McKendree University just added another piece to its already deep and talented line-up. Shelby Moore, the #2 overall prep recruit in the country, announced on Instagram that she will join the Bearcats.
This is a big addition for first-year head coach Alexio Garcia who, like Moore, hails from Washington. McKendree won the first three National Collegiate Women's Wrestling Championships (2020-22) and will attempt to win its fourth in March.
"I decided on McKendree University because of the intensity and the drive the team has," Moore said. "I had to choose the place that was going to push me toward my big Olympic goals."
The Buckley, Washington, native won the High School Recruiting Showcase in April along with 16U and Junior National titles in Fargo last year. Moore, a senior at White River High School, is a 2022 Washington Mat Classic champion and placed fifth at this year's U17 World Championships in Rome.
Moore competed in her second FloWrestling's Who's Number One card earlier this year
