In a battle of two multiple-time All-Americans, Pat McKee and Brandon Courtney will meet on November 22 at the NWCA All-Star Classic presented by Cliff Keen. Both known for their exciting style of wrestling, these two are sure to put on a show.

Match History

The two met at last year’s NCAA tournament in the 5th place match with McKee winning 8-3. McKee used two first-period takedowns, a second-period escape, a third-period takedown, and riding time to secure his victory. His first takedown came from a roll-through on a headlock attempt from Courtney after McKee pressured him with double underhooks. The second was a quick go behind off of Courtney’s slide-by attempt. The third was a low single on the edge.

What To Expect At The All-Star Classic

Courtney is going to have to make some adjustments if he wants to flip the result. Luckily for him, this match won’t be on the backside of a bracket where McKee is so notorious for wrestling well that it has become somewhat of a running joke. Despite this, I fully expect McKee to bring his A-game and I expect Courtney to make adjustments as well. It’s rare that Courtney isn’t able to get a takedown, but the mat game could become a factor. Whoever wins, I’m expecting a closer match than round one. McKee thinks it will go similar to before.
