Earning All-American honors is an incredible achievement for any wrestler and each year there are numerous, deserving wrestlers who fall just short. The below article outlines the best wrestlers at every weight who have yet to place in the top 8 at the NCAA tournament.

For each wrestler listed, we'll show how their NCAA tournament finishes and what former All-Americans they have defeated throughout their career. To be included below, we looked at notable wins over past All-Americans, multiple-time NCAA qualifiers, or those who finished in the round of 12. At every weight, we'll also detail how many past All-Americans and NCAA champs are in the field for the upcoming 2022-23 season.
