Blair Academy senior Marc-Anthony McGowan is one of the more recognizable names in high school wrestling ever since he won Cadet Worlds in 2019. Ben Davino is entering his junior season for St. Charles High School in Illinois after a surging sophomore campaign in which he won Fargo and the Illinois State Championships, made the Ironman finals, and finished 3rd at the U17 World Team Trials.

McGowan and Davino met in an Ironman final this winter. McGowan's first-period takedown set the tone for the match. In the third period, Davino needed a takedown of his own, but McGowan's positioning didn't leave any openings which forced Davino to attempt a late lat-drop that McGowan countered.

For Davino to flip the script in September, he'll need to find a way past McGowan's defense, but Davino tends to be up for the challenge of attacking. He's known for his offensive output, and that has served him well.
