A U15 Nationals champion, 2X Illinois state champion, and Ironman finalist isn't too bad for someone entering their junior year of high school. Davino really blew up on the national scene last summer when he notched two big wins over the #2 overall recruit in the class of 2025, Anthony Knox, to win his U15 national title.

Ben Davino isn't satisfied, however. He's still got a lot to achieve in the sport. One big to-do left in the sport of wrestling for Davino is become a Division I wrestler. The #5 overall prospect in the class of 2024, Davino is already well on his way. College coaches realize it too.

"I remember a lot of phone calls, a good amount of texts, and a lot of new voices. It was exciting" - Ben Davino talking about the first day college coaches could contact him.

And the Illinois native is learning a lot himself during this process, particularly in the differences of college coaches.

"All coaches are different... They're going to have different styles of coaching. That's definitely something I'll have to factor in when I do make a decision and am looking at my goals."

Davino isn't sure yet where he'll go, but he does know he wants to make the decision before his senior year of high school. Listen to the full interview above to hear Davino go into more detail about what he's learned, the biggest factors going into this decision, and why he wants to commit before his senior year of high school.

Another goal left for Davino to knock off is a Fargo title. That's one he doesn't have to wait to knock off. Fargo goes down July 16-22 live on FloWrestling. Check out the event schedule and preview content HERE.
