Savannah Cosme and Alexis Janiak met in the finals of Women’s Nationals to determine the Cadet World Team spot at 57 kg. Now, they’ll face off once again at Who’s Number One to determine the top spot at 127 lbs in the national rankings.

Cosme got the better of Janiak at Women’s Nationals, winning two matches to none to claim the World Team spot. Match one ended in a pin while match two was an 8-2 decision.

Because of these matches, Cosme will have the upper hand and the higher ranking going into round III. 

After their Women’s Nationals series, both girls went on to go undefeated at Junior Duals. While Cosme was competing at the Cadet World Championships, Janiak dominated her way to a Junior Fargo title. She 10-0d every opponent except Skylar Little Soldier in the semifinals, who she beat 8-4. 

In addition to being a Cadet World Team member, Cosme, who is a native of Denver, Colorado, is a 2021 Folkstyle Nationals champion and 2020 Super 32 champion. She notched a 6-2 folkstyle victory over Janiak at Super 32 as well. You can watch that match HERE.
