PA hammer vs MI stud. Cadet World Teamer vs Fargo champ. #1 vs #2. It doesn’t get much better than this. Saturday, September 17th, Levi Haines and Joshua Barr will square off to find out who is the undisputed best wrestler in the country at 160 lbs.

Haines will hold the top spot going into this bout. He claimed the top spot by winning the 71 kg Cadet World Team Trials bracket where Barr took 3rd. It took all three matches, but Haines defeated Aiden Riggins, who defeated Barr in the quarterfinals. Now, that doesn’t mean you should count Barr out. He showed progress and adjustments when he reversed the result and beat Riggins in the Fargo finals later in the summer.

Watch Josh Barr win the 160 lbs Junior Fargo title below.

Both of these wrestlers come from high-level club programs. Haines is a product of David Taylor and the M2 Training Center in State College, Pennsylvania. Barr is trained by Paul Donahoe at Team Danhoe wrestling in Davison, Michigan. There is no question they will come ready to scrap.

Unsurprisingly, Haines is committed to wrestle at Penn State after his college career is over this season. Barr, a year younger than Haines, is still uncommitted. Currently #10 on the Junior Big Board, Barr will be a catch for whatever program he ends up at.

Watch Levi Haines make the Cadet World Team below.
