Team Pennsylvania isn’t playing around this year. While a good portion of graduated senior won’t be at Fargo and #1 220 pounder Nick Feldman is now out with an injury, most of the top incoming freshman - incoming seniors will be competing. This will give PA a chance at being the fist team since Illinois in 2017 to win both Junior and 16U freestyle titles in the same year.

#1 at 132 and the #5 pound-for-pound high school wrestler in the country, Nic Bouzakis will be carrying the torch for Team PA’s Junior squad. In 2019 Bouzakis won OW of the entire 16U freestyle tournament by going 7-0 with four tech falls and three pins. He’ll be far and away best uncommitted wrestler at the tournament.

Another returning champ from that same team and one of the best-uncommitted wrestlers in the tournament is Kolby Franklin. Franklin tech falled his way through Fargo without giving up a point except to current #1 heavyweight Chase Horne, who he beat 7-2. Although Franklin won that title two years ago at 220, he is now down at 195.

PA has won the past two 16U freestyle team titles and this year will likely be no different with the team they are bringing. Vinny Kilkeary and Mason Gibson are both ranked in the top five nationally. While they have also both already won Super 32, with the cancellation of 16U and Junior Nationals in 2020, this will be the first time we get to watch the two compete inside the FargoDome. 

If you’re not tuned in to the middle school wrestling and/or PA wrestling scenes, you might not have heard of Nathan Desmond, Dalton Perry, Vince Bouzakis, Kollin Rath, or Vaughn Spencer. They’re all incoming freshmen, but already very skilled and winning at a national level.
