125: Colton Camacho (Pitt) vs #2 Jakob Camacho (NC State)

1st Period: Since this is a battle of Camacho's, I'll be referring to them by their first names. High crotch attempt from Colton, but nice down block re-attack from Jakob, but Colton is able to get his leg back. With just under a 1:30 remaining in the first period, Jakob with a very nice head inside single that he converts to a double and finishes, 2-0. Colten is able to get to his feet and earn an escape with under 20 seonds remaining in the period. 2-1 at the end of the first period. Jakob has 57 seconds of riding time.

2nd Period: Jakob chooses bottom and is out in about 40 seconds. 3-1 now in favorite of Jakob and he has 14 seconds of riding time. Colton backs out of bounds with 45 seconds remaining and his hit for stalling. With 35 seconds to go Jakob blows through a double and scores his second takedown of the match to take a 5-1 lead. Colton is able to escape near the end of the period again and it's 5-2 at the end of the 2nd. Riding time not a factor right now.

3rd Period: Colton starts on bottom and is out right away. 5-3 now in favor of Jakob who has 44 seconds of riding time. Anther head inside single from Jakob, he gets Colton up on one leg hoping and he jumps to the head and locks up a cradle, but Colton rolls it through and earns a stalemate but not before Jakob could earn a takedown. 7-3 now and riding time goes over a minute. With 40 seconds to go, Jakob cuts Colten and runs through another double to make it 9-4, and then kicks Colton again to make it 9-5. Jakob gets in on another single and finishes right before the buzzer to earn a major decision with the addition of a riding time point. 13-5 he wins.

133: #5 Micky Phillippi (Pitt) vs. #16 Jarrett Trombley (NC State)

1st Period: Phillippi working hard to get to a 2 on 1 in the first 30 seconds, but Trombley has been able to clear multiple times. Under a minute to go and no real attacks from either wrestler, a lot of hand fighting. We'll end the first period scoreless. 

2nd Period: Phillippi will start on bottom after he gets a bloody nose cleaned up. Phillippi able to get to his feet multiple times and finally breaks free for the escape with 1:20 to go. More blood time for Phillippi as he leads 1-0. With 43 seconds to go, Phillippi gets in on a nice low single and looks to finish out of the back door and he finally finishes with 13 seconds remaining and rides out the remainder of the period to take a 3-0 lead into the final period.

3rd Period: Trombley starts on bottom and Phillippi immediately gets Trombley broken down on his stomach. Trombley up to his feet at 1:20 mark but Phillippi is able to bring him back down and throw a boot in. After another strong mat return, Phillippi's riding time goes over a minute with under 30 seconds remaining. Trombley is hit for stalling as well. Just before time expires, Trombley shakes Phillippi off and earns the reversal, but it's too little, too late. Phillippi wins 4-2 with riding time.

141: #16 Cole Matthews (Pitt) vs. #11 Tariq Wilson (NC State)

1st Period: Really nice head outside single from Matthews and he looks to drive through Wilson, but he's able to keep his balance as they go out of bounds with 2:30 remaining. Shot from space from Wilson, but Matthews with a nice re-attack and briefly gets Wilson's leg in the air, but Wilson is able to quickly get it back down on the mat. Straight on double to a knee pick for Wilson and finishes on Matthews to strike first with 35 seconds remaining. Wilson is able to ride out the period and take a 2-0 lead and 34 seconds of riding time to the second period. 

2nd Period: Wilson will start on bottom and has earned a reversal 10 seconds into the period to extend his lead to 4-0. About 10 seconds later Matthews is up to his feet and out. 4-1 lead now for Wilson who also has 40 seconds of riding time. That's how the second period ends. 

3rd Period: Matthews starts on bottom and earns a stall call on Wilson in the first 10 seconds as Wilson was not able to work up from the ankle. Out of bounds with 1:19 to go as Wilson's riding time has now gone over 1:20 seconds. With 1:03 to go Matthews earns an escape to make it 4-2. Wilson's riding time is now locked in though. Wilson hit with stalling with 25 seconds to go and it's 4-3 now in favor of Wilson. Matthews throws a lefty headlock and Wilson rolls him through, but Matthews stays with it and runs around behind for the takedown at the buzzer. We are going to overtime tied at 5 after the riding time point for Wilson is added.

Sudden Victory 1: Nothing doing in the first 30 seconds. Wilson with a shot from space and Matthews counters, gets Wilson up on one foot hoping and Wilson is able to get out of bounds with 7 seconds remaining. Pitt coaches wanted another stall call but the official went with an action call and we will go to tiebreaker #1.

Tiebreaker 1: Wilson starts on bottom in the first 30 seconds. Wilson up to his feet and then turns into Wilson and secures the reversal and rides out the remainder of the first 30 second period. Matthews will now choose neutral  trailing 7-5 and is immediately in on a high crotch. He sits Wilson to his hip, but Wilson locks through the crotch and is able to hang on for the victory. What a match! Wilson wins 7-5.

149: Luke Kemerer (Pitt) vs Ed Scott (NC State)

1st Period: Scott working hard to get to hi underhook early, but Kemerer doing a good job of clearing. Scott drives Kemerer out of bounds as he tried to drop down to a high crotch from his underhook, but ran out of room. 1:54 to go as Scott needs a little blood cleaned up. 1:01 remaining but we have another stoppage as Scott has more blood coming from his nose. Scott continue to work hard for his underhook, and throws it by and drops to a single, Kemerer dives and passes a leg, and is saved by the end of the period. Scoreless after one. 

2nd Period: Scott starts on bottom, gets up to his feet, tried for a reversal, but went ahead and just got his escape a little over 30 seconds into the period. 1-0 in favor of Scott. Again nothing doing on their feet and the second period will end 1-0 in favor of Scott. 

3rd Period: Kemerer will start on bottom. Kemerer is out in under 15 seconds and we are tied at 1 with riding time not a factor. Scott continues to push forward and Kemerer is hit for stalling with just over 1:30 remaining. Scott continues to walk Kemerer around the mat with an underhook. Each wrestler with a body lock now, but they go out of bounds with 40 seconds remaining as Scott threw Kemerer to his back, but they both went out of bounds before they did. Kemerer went for an inside trip, Scott looked to step around with a body lock of his own, Kemerer goes double overs throw and puts Scott to his back for a brief second. The official went 2 for Kemerer and Scott was able to roll throw and earn an escape quickly. 3-2 on the scoreboard with 1 second left as the official stops the match and elects to take a look at the action and make sure he got it right. Call on the mat stands. 3-2 in favor of Kemerer with 1 second left. Scott obviously can't score and Kemerer gets a big win, 3-2.

157: Tyler Badgett (Pitt) vs #2 Hayden Hidlay (NC State)

1st Period: Hidlay with a nice head inside single and finishes quickly to take a 2-0 lead, but Badgett is out in just six seconds. Badgett goes out of bounds with 1:45 to go and is hit for stalling. Quickly after the re-start, Hidlay hits a nice high crotch and sits Badgett to his butt to finish for another takedown, 4-1. Badgett out with just over a minute remaining to make it 4-2. Hidlay with 37 seconds of riding time. Badgett hit for stalling again as Hidlay fired up more shots and that's already Badgett's second stall call and Hidlay now leads, 5-2. Just before the buzzer, Hidlay gets in on another high crotch and again finishes with another double to take a 7-2 lead to the second period. 

2nd Period: Badgett starts on bottom and 15 seconds later, Hidlay with a roll through title to extend his lead to 11-2 and push his riding time over a minute. 30 seconds later Hidlay scores another roll through title and then transitions to an arm bar and scores another four-point nearfall to make it 15-2. After Badgett bellies down, Hidlay with another roll through tilt and he ends the match with a 19-2 tech fall.

165: #6 Jake Wentzel (Pitt) vs. #14 Thomas Bullard (NC State)

1st Period: Nine seconds in and we've got action. Wentzel went straight to double underhooks and tried to body lock Bullard, but they go out of bounds. Action called and we are back to the center. At 1:45 Bullard gets in on a head outside single, but good hips from Wentzel and a stalemate was called with 1:38 to go. No other committed attacks the remainder of the period as it ends scoreless. 

2nd Period: Wentzel will start on bottom. Wentzel up to his feet right away, Bullard drops down to the leg and gets hit for stalling. Re-start with 1:44 to go and again Wentzel is able to get to his feet, but Bullard follows nicely and they go out of bounds with 1:34 to go. Wentzel to his feet, Bullard tries to throw a leg in, but Wentzel catches the leg and holds on to it log enough to get a stall call just before he escapes and takes a 2-0 lead. Bullard's riding time was stopped at 50 seconds. We got a re-start at 50 seconds after they checked to make sure the riding time was correct and then Bullard got in on a low single, tried to finish out the back door, and 1 second before the buzzer is able to throw a boot in and score the takedown at the end of the period. We are tied at 2-2 going to the final period. 

3rd Period: Bullard starts on bottom and scores the reversal 20 seconds into the period with a switch as Wentzel had thrown a boot in to take a 4-2 lead, but 10 seconds later, Wentzel is out to make it 4-3. 20 seconds to go, Bullard drops into a low single and looks to eat clock away and he will and hold on to win 4-3.

174: Jared McGill (Pitt) vs #13 Daniel Bullard (NC State)

1st Period: Nothing doing the first minute so far here. A couple half shots from McGill, but he has been unable to touch Bullard's legs. At the 40 second mark, Bullard fires off a head inside single, but it's defended well by Bullard. No score after the first. 

2nd Period: Bullard will start on bottom and less than 15 seconds into the second period is able to score a reversal and immediately throws boots in and goes to work on a nasty power half. The official calls a stalemate with 32 seconds to go as Bullard's riding time sit at exactly 1 minute. Immediately on the re-start, Bullard throws boots in again and rides out the remainder of the period and takes a 2-0 lead and 1:32 of riding time to the final period. 

3rd Period: McGill chooses neutral and at the 1:48 mark Bullard gets in on a low single and converts it for the takedown and goes back to work on top as he extends the lead to 4-0. At the 1:04 mark McGill is hit for stalling as he can't build off his base. Bullard's riding time is now over 2 minutes and he is really cranking on a power half. With 19 seconds to go, McGill is hit for stalling again to make it 5-0, add a riding time point on and Bullard wins it 6-0.

184: #19 Gregg Harvey (Pitt) vs. #3 Trent Hidlay (NC State)

1st Period: 15 seconds in and Hidlay scores the underhook knee pick we've become so accustomed to seeing. He leads 2-0 quickly. Hidlay has put a tough ride on Harvey as his riding time goes over a minute with 1:35 to go in the first. With 50 seconds remaining, Harvey is able to escape and cut the lead to 2-1. Hidlay was able to rack up 1:48 of riding time though. That's how the first period will end. 

2nd Period: Hidlay starts on bottom and was up to his feet right away. Harvey didn't return Hidlay in time and was hit for stalling as Hidlay escaped to make it 3-1. Hidlay retains riding time at 1:33. With under 10 seconds to go in the period, Harvey and Hidlay were locked in an over-under position, and Hidlay drags out of it and scores a takedown to take a 5-1 lead to the third period.

3rd Period: Harvey starts on bottom and is out in 20 seconds, but Hidlay with under to knee pick and he quickly scores it to take a 7-2 lead. He will go optional start to try and get the major. It's currently 7-3, but Hidlay has riding time locked up. With just under a minute to go, Hidlay with a nice sweep single and he finishes quickly to extend his lead to 9-3 before Harvey escapes to make it 9-4. Hidlay with another shot and Harvey is dinged for stalling, his second one of the match, and Hidlay now leads 10-4. Hidlay unable to score the remainder of the match, but tack a point on for Hidlay for riding time. He raises the roof on his way to a 11-4 win.

197: #5 Nino Bonaccorsi (Pitt) vs Isaac Trumble (NC State)

1st Period: Bonaccorsi with a head outside single, but some great hips from Trumble. Bonaccorsi continues to try and work for the finish, but Trumble does a great job of trying up Bonaccorsi's ankle and earning a stalemate at the 1:34 mark. Bonaccorsi with another head inside single and once again the lengthy Trumble making it difficult for Bonaccorsi and he once again earns a stalemate with 27 seconds to go. We end the first period scoreless. 

2nd Period: Bonaccorsi starts on bottom and Trumble has a boot in and riding tough as he goes over a minute of riding time. Bonaccorsi goes sitout and switch and gets it deep and they end up in a head outside single position and Trumble earns another stalemate at the 24 second mark. No escape was called, but Pitt is challenging looking for a locked hands call. The official rules that Trumble did lock hands. Trumble's riding time is reset to 1:22 and Bonaccorsi takes a 1-0 lead. He will remain in the bottom position. Trumble with a bottom leg turk and gets a turn on Bonaccorsi and earns a full four count as time expires! Trumble leads 4-1 heading to the third period and he has nearly 2 minutes of riding time.

3rd Period: Trumble chooses bottom, but Bonaccorsi will put him neutral and it's now 5-1 in favor of Trumble. Bonaccorsi once again in on a single, but can't finish and we get a stalemate with 1:27 to go. Bonaccorsi with another single and this time works to finish out the backdoor, but Trumble drapes over the top and earns yet another stalemate with 34 seconds to go. Another shot from Bonaccorsi but he once again can't score and Trumble pulls off the upset, 6-1!

NC State 24

285: Jake Slinger (Pitt) vs #17 Deonte Wilson (NC State)

1st Period: Nothing doing after the first minute and a half. Right before the buzzer Wilson blows through Slinger with a snatch single he converts to a double and takes a 2-0 lead to the second period.

2nd Period: Slinger starts on bottom. Wilson riding tough and he pushes his riding time up over a minute as they go out of bounds with 46 seconds remaining. We'll break for a little blood time for Wilson. Slinger able to get to his feet again after the re-start, but Wilson brings him back down before they got out of bounds again with 18 seconds to go. Wilson rides out the remainder of the period and leads 2-0 going into the third.

3rd Period: Wilson with a quick escape and at the 1:10 mark adds a takedown off a slick lefty high crotch. Slinger is out and able to get on the board with 30 seconds to go. No more scoring, add a riding time point for Wilson and he wins it 6-1.
