March 7-8 | 10 AM & 11 AM Eastern

I was told by two separate programs that coaches were instructed to seed all 14 entries, so that's what we're doing here. Previously, they have only seeded to 14 at weights where the conference receives eight or more allocations for NCAAs. At weights where seven or fewer automatic qualifying spots were up for grabs, they've seeded only eight in the past.

For the first time we did an individual article for every weight class. However, because we started them so long ago some weight classes needed a little updating. So we have combined all 10 weight class predictions into one place!

125 Pounds

Ranking | 8 Allocations

  1. Spencer Lee, Iowa
  2. Devin Schroder, Purdue
  3. Patrick McKee, Minnesota
  4. Justin Cardani, Illinois
  5. Jack Medley, Michigan
  6. Liam Cronin, Indiana
  7. Nic Aguilar, Rutgers
  8. Michael DeAugustino, Northwestern
  9. Eric Barnett, Wisconsin
  10. Alex Thomsen, Nebraska
  11. Logan Griffin, Michigan State
  12. Malik Heinselman, Ohio State
  13. Brandon Cray, Maryland
  14. Brandon Meredith, Penn State

This one obviously required a second look. Patrick McKee didn't wrestle in February but he was in the final Coaches Ranking. Michael DeAugustino lost to Nic Aguilar on February 14th and we swapped Malik Heinselman in for Dylan Koontz.

133 Pounds

Ranking | 7 Allocations

  1. Seth Gross, Wisconsin
  2. Roman Bravo-Young, Penn State
  3. Austin DeSanto, Iowa
  4. Travis Piotrowski, Illinois
  5. Ridge Lovett, Nebraska
  6. Sebastian Rivera, Northwestern
  7. Sammy Alvarez, Rutgers
  8. Cayden Rooks, Indiana
  9. Boo Dryden, Minnesota
  10. Travis Ford-Melton, Purdue
  11. Garrett Pepple, Michigan State
  12. Austin Assad, Michigan
  13. King Sandoval, Maryland
  14. Jordan Decatur, Ohio State

Assad in for Silva. On to the big topic, I settled on Sebastian at six, right where I had him originally. The 14 coaches will seed each guy, and then they will be totaled up, leading me to believe they'll average him out at six. I have never been less sure about exactly where a guy will go. I've made stands and suggestions, but knew how the seeding would go if they disagreed with me. In this case, I have no idea how the conference as a whole feels about a guy of his caliber missing almost the entire second semester.

141 Pounds

Ranking | 8 Allocations

  1. Nick Lee, Penn State
  2. Luke Pletcher, Ohio State
  3. Chad Red, Nebraska
  4. Max Murin, Iowa
  5. Tristan Moran, Wisconsin
  6. Mitch McKee, Minnesota
  7. Parker Filius, Purdue
  8. Dylan Duncan, Illinois
  9. Cole Mattin, Michigan
  10. Alec McKenna, Northwestern
  11. JoJo Aragona, Rutgers
  12. Matt Santos, Michigan State
  13. Eddie Bolivar, Indiana
  14. Hunter Baxter, Maryland

The 3/4/5 and the 7-10 groups are a crapshoot. Although it was out of conference, I think Moran's loss to Blockhus in the final dual of the season will drop him to five as Red defeated Blockhus twice this season. Second, there are no rules, so the coaches will probably weigh Red's status as a returning conference finalist and All-American heavily. To clarify, Red beat Murin, Murin beat Moran, and Moran beat Red this season.

Filius is a tricky one after beating Dylan Duncan in their final dual of the year, but he lost to Alec McKenna on January 10th. Duncan defeated Cole Mattin and Alec McKenna. Mattin defeated McKenna and also lost to Carter Happel.

149 Pounds

Ranking | 10 Allocations

  1. Sammy Sasso, Ohio State
  2. Pat Lugo, Iowa
  3. Brayton Lee, Minnesota
  4. Kanen Storr, Michigan
  5. Graham Rooks, Indiana
  6. Cole Martin, Wisconsin
  7. Collin Purinton, Nebraska
  8. Jarod Verkleeren, Penn State
  9. Gerard Angelo, Rutgers
  10. Yahya Thomas, Northwestern
  11. Griffin Parriott, Purdue
  12. Alex Hrisopoulos, Michigan State
  13. Mousa Jodeh, Illinois
  14. Michael Doestch, Maryland

I let our conference and national rankings settle the Martin/Purinton/Verkleeren dilemma, though that one could go any of three ways. Martin splitting with Rooks helps his case, as does the fact that he pinned Purinton while Verkleeren only beat him 3-2, though we should not Purinton split with Griffin Parriott so that could also drag him down to 8, putting Verkleeren at the six.

157 Pounds

Ranking | 6 Allocations

  1. Ryan Deakin, Northwestern
  2. Kaleb Young, Iowa
  3. Kendall Coleman, Purdue
  4. Will Lewan, Michigan
  5. Jake Tucker, Michigan State
  6. Peyton Robb, Nebraska
  7. Ryan Thomas, Minnesota
  8. Eric Barone, Illinois
  9. Jahi Jones, Maryland
  10. Mike Van Brill, Rutgers
  11. Fernie Silva, Indiana
  12. Garrett Model, Wisconsin
  13. Elijah Cleary, Ohio State
  14. Luke Gardner, Penn State

I'm curious to see if the coaches treat Kendall Coleman's injury default loss to Peyton Robb the same way they treat Austin DeSanto's to Roman Bravo-Young. Luke Gardner wrestled against American, so we're going with him for Penn State. Elijah Cleary beat Quinn Kinner at Mat Town II. Cleary beat Eric Barone and didn't wrestle Model or Silva, but lost to Van Brill. Wisconsin may go with Drew Scharenbrock, who Cleary beat. Ryan Thomas lost to Caleb Licking which dropped him from fifth to seventh.

165 Pounds

Ranking | 8 Allocations

  1. Vincenzo Joseph, Penn State
  2. Alex Marinelli, Iowa
  3. Evan Wick, Wisconsin
  4. Isaiah White, Nebraska
  5. Shayne Oster, Northwestern
  6. Ethan Smith, Ohio State
  7. Danny Braunagel, Illinois
  8. Bailee O’Reilly, Minnesota
  9. Drew Hughes, Michigan State
  10. Kyle Cochran, Maryland
  11. Brett Donner, Rutgers
  12. Tyler Meisinger, Michigan
  13. Tanner Webster, Purdue
  14. Dillon Hoey, Indiana

My only real question is who the bottom three teams send at this weight. Otherwise it's pretty cut and dry in my opinion.

174 Pounds

Ranking | 9 Allocations

  1. Michael Kemerer, Iowa
  2. Mark Hall, Penn State
  3. Dylan Lydy, Purdue
  4. Mikey Labriola, Nebraska
  5. Devin Skatzka, Minnesota
  6. Kaleb Romero, Ohio State
  7. Joey Gunther, Illinois
  8. Layne Malczewski, Michigan State
  9. Tyler Morland, Northwestern
  10. Philip Spadafora, Maryland
  11. Jared Krattiger, Wisconsin
  12. Willie Scott, Rutgers
  13. Max Maylor, Michigan
  14. Diego Lemley, Indiana

Jacob Covaciu was not in the final coaches ranking so we're putting in Lemley instead. The explanation for Labriola over Skatzka and Romero was written here.

184 Pounds

Ranking | 10 Allocations

  1. Aaron Brooks, Penn State
  2. Cam Caffey, Michigan State
  3. Abe Assad, Iowa
  4. Taylor Venz, Nebraska
  5. Billy Janzer, Rutgers
  6. Owen Webster, Minnesota
  7. Rocky Jordan, Ohio State
  8. Zac Braunagel, Illinois
  9. Johnny Sebastian, Wisconsin
  10. Jelani Embree, Michigan
  11. Max Lyon, Purdue
  12. Jack Jessen, Northwestern
  13. Jakob Hinz, Indiana
  14. Kyle Jasenski, Maryland

Although this weight was a complete mess and there are tons of conflicting results, I'm pretty confident this is how it will shake out. This one was just done on Thursday so changes unless there are any last second injuries.

197 Pounds

Ranking | 6 Allocations

  1. Kollin Moore, Ohio State
  2. Eric Schultz, Nebraska
  3. Jacob Warner, Iowa
  4. Lucas Davison, Northwestern
  5. Christian Brunner, Purdue
  6. Shakur Rasheed, Penn State
  7. Jordan Pagano, Rutgers
  8. Jackson Striggow, Michigan
  9. Jaron Smith, Maryland
  10. Hunter Ritter, Minnesota
  11. Matt Wroblewski, Illinois
  12. Nick May, Michigan State
  13. Taylor Watkins, Wisconsin
  14. Nick Willham, Indiana

I'm curious to see if the coaches treat Christian Brunner's injury default loss to Jordan Pagano the same way they treat Austin DeSanto's to Roman Bravo-Young. This one was honestly more difficult to settle on than 184 was. The full breakdown was completed Friday.

285 Pounds

Ranking | 7 Allocations

  1. Gable Steveson, Minnesota
  2. Mason Parris, Michigan
  3. Tony Cassioppi, Iowa
  4. Trent Hillger, Wisconsin
  5. David Jensen, Nebraska
  6. Gary Traub, Ohio State
  7. Seth Nevills, Penn State
  8. Thomas Penola, Purdue
  9. Luke Luffman, Illinois
  10. Alex Esposito, Rutgers
  11. Christian Rebotarro, Michigan State
  12. Jake Kleimola, Indiana
  13. Jack Heyob, Northwestern
  14. Parker Robinson, Maryland

One of the easiest weights to seed though I do wonder how long the discussion goes about Parris getting suggested to be the one seed over Gable. I don't believe it will be a clean sweep for Gable to be at the top.
