Four Reasons To Watch Minnesota vs Michigan
It's always a good time when two of the college wrestling's traditional power programs do battle, and this Sunday's showdown between the Golden Gophers and Wolverines will be no different. Minnesota will be looking to even the all-time series as Michigan currently holds a 32-31-2 advantage.

#1 Gable Steveson, Minnesota  vs #2 Mason Parris, Michigan

It's not every day that two Junior world champions and top-three ranked wrestlers in a high school class square off. In the class of 2018, Steveson was the #1 overall recruit and Parris was the #3 overall recruit.

Both wrestled as true freshmen a year ago with Steveson turning in a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships while Parris fell in the bloodround since Matt Stencel. Since then, though, Parris has been on fire making the Junior world team and going on to win the Junior world championship without having a match leave the first period. Parris has carried that momentum over to the NCAA season where he is a perfect 17-0 with 10 bonus point wins.

Steveson has been even more dominant with all six of his wins on the season being bonus-point victories. Despite wrestling in the same conference all last season, the two did not meet.

Watch Parris beat All-American Tanner Hall in the CKLV finals.

#4 Brayton Lee, Minnesota vs #12 Kanen Storr, Michigan

On October 1, 2019, Michigan wrestling announced Kanen Storr, and a few other Wolverines, would be taking an Olympic redshirt, but his plans have changed and he's back in the Michigan starting lineup up a weight from last season when he qualified for the NCAA Championships at 141. Despite the redshirt, Storr did compete at open tournaments during the first half of the season.

Brayton Lee has lived up to the hype coming off his redshirt and has been fantastic beating Josh Maruca, Brock Zacherl, Max Thomsen, Sammy Sasso, Henry Pohlmeyer, and Cole Martin. Can Lee add another hammer to his hit list?

The McKee Brothers

For the past three seasons, Mitch McKee has been an electric factory that has the potential to hit anything at any time. Now, with the addition of freshman Pat McKee to the lineup, there's another Mckee that is just as dynamic. Both are incredible freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers and have figured out a way to incorporate techniques from the international styles into their folkstyle wrestlers. Fourteen of Mitch's 20 wins this season have been bonus-point wins and eight of Pat's 14 wins have been bonus-point.

Joey Silva In Action Again

Full disclosure, this is just for Christian Pyles. If you listen to FloWrestling Radio Live, you know that CP is the leader of the Joey Silva fan club and believes the blue-chip recruit can contend for a national title. While I may not agree with that, I am excited to see him on the mat in the maize and blue to see where he stands in the Big Ten 133-pound weight class pecking order. Last Friday night, Silva made his Wolverine debut taking out then #25 Garrett Pepple.

Watch Silva's debut against Pepple.
