Gaige Garcia is pulling double duty in college. The Pennsylvania state champ has committed to wrestle and play football for Michigan.

The #22 ranked junior on the 2020 Big Board, Garcia is the second Top-50 recruit from that class to verbal to the Wolverines, joining Fidel Mayora of Montini Catholic in Illinois.

Wrestling for Southern Columbia, Garcia is 114-6 in his career and has placed fifth, third, and first at the PIAA state tournament.

Currently ranked fourth at 195, Garcia helped the Tigers go 16-0 and win a PA state title on the gridiron, where he is a star running back. He projects as a 197 at the next level, but he could grow into a heavyweight. Mason Parris, UM's current 285, would be on his senior year if Garcia redshirts and spends one season at 197 before bumping up to heavyweight.

It appears that Garcia's scholarship money will come from football. Signing day for wrestling starts on November 13, while the early period for football runs from December 18-20 for Garcia to sign his National Letters of Intent.
