#1 Lucas Byrd Reopens Recruitment
No. 1-ranked, 120-pound Ohio high school state champion Lucas Byrd announced he will be reopening his recruitment.
It's been a little over a week since longtime Maryland head coach Kerry McCoy announced that he would be stepping down, and now the Terps are losing a top recruit in the process as No. 1-ranked, 120-pound Ohio high school state champion Lucas Byrd announced he will be reopening his recruitment.
Along with collecting a state title this year to cap off his career, Byrd was also an Ironman runner-up, Super 32 champion, and Escape the Rock champion. He is also ranked fourth in the 2018-19 125-pound Prospect Rankings and No. 21 on the Class of 2019 Big Board.
Byrd said that he is open to all options and has yet to narrow his search for a new home.
