Session II begins at 4:30 with Cadet Semi's and Junior Prelims.
Session II
• Perhaps the best match of the session came late when Georgia's Noah Pettigrew and PA's Dorian Crosby locked up in a 11-11 Pettigrew buzzer beater.
• Oklahoma's Jacob Butler took out Akron Runner-Up Frankie Tal-Shahar (FL). « VIDEO
• Connor O'Neil (NJ) won a 13-12 war after Duwayne Villalpando (KS) staged a late comeback attempt.
• Travis Mastrogiovanni (NJ) and Jagger Condomitti put on a show in semi's. It went to Mastro, 11-9. « VIDEO
• Dominick Serrano had two big moves to finish off a quick tech of Wyatt Henson. « VIDEO
• As the Cadet Semi's kick off, Jordan Williams beats Stevo Poulin (NY) in tight one. « VIDEO
• Much quicker match this go round as Daton techs Courtney in 2:01. « VIDEO
• Vance VomBaur trailed 6-0 to NJ State Champ Joey Olivieri, but blanked him 8-0 and won 8-6 in a wild consi match. VomBaur now has Zerban, who edged Jesse Mendez, 2-2. « VIDEO
• We start with a slow pace initially for Fix-Courtney but then Fix opens it up. He gets the tech in early 2nd period. « VIDEO
Session I
• New MOTD candidate! #6-Ryan Franco (CA), a returning runner-up, trailed 10-4 at the break and came back to win a thrilling 16-14 slugfest over Jaxon Smith of GA. « VIDEO
• #6-Jordan Crace (OH) scored a takedown with :20 left to beat returning AA Trevor Chumbley (IL). « VIDEO
• In the match to see who faces Crace, Clay Carlson of Minnesota took out #1-Jaden Abas (CA). « VIDEO
• Way too early Match-of-the-Day contender: Zerban-Burnett quarterfinal. « VIDEO
• Penn recruit Doug Zapf got up to a 9-1 lead and held on 9-7 to beat returning champ Patrick McKee. « VIDEO
• #16-Jesse Ybarra (AZ) won 5-5 over #4 and tournament favorite Ryan Crookham (PA) in Cadet quarters. « VIDEO
• Drew Scharenbrock (WI) rallied back to beat #6-Victor Voinovich (OH) in the first round.
• Josh Jones, ranked #19, took out #12-Eddie Bolivar with a second period takedown and gut.
• Returning Runner-Up in Cadets, Carter Young lost for a second time and was eliminated.
• The morning started off pretty 'heavy'. Two of the top contenders at 100lbs missed weight. Rocco Welsh (PA) and Kenneth Crosby (CO). In addition to Hunter Catka, who broke his foot last night, it's a blow to PA's title chances. They came in to the day with the most quarterfinalists (17) ahead of Ohio (14).
• Anthony Artalona, originally entered at 152, weighed in at 145. He's in pursuit of the 4x Fargo FS Champ fraternity.
