One of the nation's best juniors announced his college decision earlier today, as Michael Colaiocco verbally committed to Penn. The National Prep champ released the commitment on his instagram

The growth of the Penn RTC and return of Roger Reina to the head coaching position helped the Quakers get an excellent recruiting class from the current group of seniors, and now their 2019 class is shaping up well, led so far by Colaiocco, who finished his season ranked fourth at 120lb.

Colaiocco had a final top five list that also included Lehigh, Princeton, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech.

"For me, Penn was the right choice given the opportunity to get an outstanding education at a school with a rising program and Regional Training Center," Colaiocco said.

In our most recent prospect rankings, the junior from Blair Academy comes in at #6 among projected 133-pounders. A New Jersey native, Colaiocco is unquestionably one of the best juniors in the country, and is #17 on the Class of 2019 Big Board.

After getting fourth in Fargo Junior freestyle this summer, Colaiocco avenged a loss there by pinning Joey Melendez in the Ironman finals. He has also won Beast of the East three times and will be back again next year for his fourth.
