Rutgers will be adding a Fargo champ to their roster in the next couple years. Robert Kanniard has verbally committed to wrestle for the Scarlet Knights in college.

The junior out of Wall high school in New Jersey made the announcement via instagram. It is the first verbal for Rutgers among the current class of juniors.

After a runner-up finish in single class New Jersey this year, Kanniard is ranked 18th at 160 pounds. He comes in at #27 on the Class of 2019 Big Board.

Kanniard went 45-1 this past season and was 40-3 as a sophomore, finishing fourth at 152lbs. He also went undefeated at Cadet duals last and won Fargo Cadet Freestyle at 160 in July.

Coach Scott Goodale and his staff are coming off an 11th place finish at last weekend's NCAA championships.
