Yianni D Is Making His Return

Matt Shuck Yianni D

In the first week of the new year, it was announced that Yianni Diakomihalis would never wrestle another high school match again, killing his chances of claiming his fifth New York state title because of season-ending surgery on his left elbow.

Well, the two-time Cadet World champion is making his return to action next weekend in Schenectedy, NY, at the Journeymen World Classic and Duals, which are streaming LIVE on FloWrestling on April 22-23. Yianni D is slated to wrestle in the individual tournament and the USA versus Canada dual meet that will close out the tournament.

But that's just the appetizer. The following week he will be wrestling at the US Open in Las Vegas at 66kg/145lbs, which is also streaming LIVE on FloWrestling. Last year he had a wild loss to Missouri All-American Jayden Eierman at the Open that had all kinds of twists and turns. This year, Diakomihalis will be back looking to take home the title.

Yianni gets revenge over Eierman for third place.
