Updated And Expanded-New Freestyle P4P Rankings
I just couldn't resist.  20 was cool, but 25 just feels right.  Last time around it was just after World Team Trials when this list came out.  Since then we've had University wrestle offs, University Worlds, a few international tournaments as well as the Phase II World Team Trials in Fargo.  So yeah, quite a bit of movement. If you don't feel like looking back at the last set of rankings the previous ranking is in parentheses.

1. Jordan Burroughs (1)-Should baby Beacon become an honorary P4P wrestler? Stay tuned.

2. Jake Varner (2)-Lost at Azerbaijan, but I don’t think that gives anyone the right to pass him.

3. Tervel Dlagnev (3)-Yeah, lost in Azerbaijan as well for Bronze, but his body of work and World Class performances keeps him here, but the field narrows the gap.

4. Brent Metcalf (6)-I think enough is enough, he keeps winning, he’s got wins over some of the best guys on the planet and he just won at Azerbaijan.  It's up to him at World's if he is to climb any higher.

5. Nick Marable (5)-Got it done in Fargo, but Metcalf probably could/should have been ahead all along.  Both guys haven't lost in awhile, but going back to World Cup, Metcalf was on fire and Marable struggled.

6. David Taylor (4)-David Taylor is a better wrestler than Marable.  I acknowledge this, but Marable is no longer a 74. He’s a dominant 70.

7. Jimmy Kennedy (7)-Got it done at Fargo in a big way in a very tough weight.

8. Ed Ruth (8)-Nice job at Azerbaijan getting Bronze.

9. Keith Gavin (9)-Holds position.

10. Coleman Scott (10)-Still nasty.  Fell short against an absolute hammer but his win over Reece shows how elite he continues to be.

11. Clayton Foster (11)-No reason to move Clayton one way or the other.

12. Andrew Howe (12)-Same for Howe.

13. Tony Ramos (13)-Won an international tournament, albeit not against the most stunning competition.

14. Frank Molinaro (15)-Molinaro nearly made another national team outside of his natural weight class this week wrestling 70KG at Fargo.

15. Chris Perry (15)-Follows up his true 3rd at WTT’s with a University Silver. Chris was right there to win it as well.

16 Reece Humphrey (UR)-He was unranked because of his performances at 65. If he’s a 61, he’s a pretty bad dude, as we saw at Fargo.

17. Zach Rey (17)-Probably still number two on the depth chart for heavy for USA.

18. Dustin Kilgore (18)-University Silver medal a few weeks back.

19. Jordan Oliver (14)-Great performances from others and JO's inactivity let him fall back a few.

20. Matt McDonough (19) World University Bronze where he dropped a heartbreaking semi in somewhat controversial fashion.

21 Tyrell Fortune (UR) University World Champion at 125KG and dominant throughout.

22. James Green (UR) Ran the gauntlet at 70 in Fargo before falling to Marable, was also University Silver a few weeks ago. Not a bad month, Greezy!

23. Tyler Caldwell (UR) World Champion at 74KG. He stepped up and did what many (myself included) didn’t think he’d do.

24. Sam Hazewinkel (20) I felt like the young guys getting University Medals have proven a little more than Sam.  That could be wrong.  It's just difficult to compare sometimes.

25. BJ Futrell (UR) Moments away from a University Gold. He continues to improve. Hard to imagine he’s probably 4th at best for 61, but it’s just that deep for us.
