Coleman Scott Has The Best Over Tie Series in the World

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that Coleman Scott currently has the best over tie series in the world.  I say this because he's been killing opponents with the series for years, and I most recently watched Coleman use the series to great effect at the London Olympics -his series was good enough to get him a bronze medal at 60kg.  I watched each and every Olympic placer compete in London, and I've seen many of those compete in various other international competitions...and no one, at least at that competition (the biggest competition in the world), impressed me more with this series.

Here Coleman Scott shows eight takedowns from the over tie series.  The first seven takedowns are leg attacks from an over tie set up, and the last is a dirty little slide by demonstrated and broken down in detail.

Over Tie to Cross Pick

Coleman starts this series by showing his over tie cross pick.  From his over tie, he pulls his opponent's head to his bicep, side steps, rocks back to transfer his weight to his right foot, then uses his right hand (his attack hand) to hit a cross pick.

The Ol' Over Tie Ankle Pick Curve Ball

This move is great for when your opponent is anticipating the over tie to cross pick. If he is defending his lead leg heavily, then you can "throw him a curve ball" by side stepping and ankle picking his back leg instead of the lead leg. Make sure to throw his head with your over tie hand whenever you attack his leg.

Turn Away From My Pick, Say Hello to My Single Leg

This move is for when you try to hit your cross pick from the over tie.  When your opponent defends the attack by pulling his leg back, you can simply transition from the pick to a single leg finish.  Coleman shows to finish by with your left leg high, above the knee.

Over Tie Pull Sweep Single

Coleman once again starts from the over tie and side steps from there to create and angle.  This time, however, he uses his over tie hand to attack a sweep single to his left side.  When hitting the move, he makes sure to attack above his opponent's knee.

The Move Coleman Scott Hit to Win Bronze in London

Coleman Scott shows the takedown he hit on Japan's Kenichi Yumoto at the end of their match to win the Olympic Bronze Medal. He starts from the over tie, side steps laterally, then changes his level and uses his over tie hand to attack a low single. When attacking with the low single, he makes sure to place his head on his opponent's knee and run his feet to the side for the TD.

Over Tie to Side Step Double Leg

Coleman uses his over tie and side step set up to get his opponent to react.  Whenever his opponent reacts by posting both of his arms on Coleman's shoulders, Coleman pops those arms and shoots a deep double leg.

Over Tie to Pull, Post, Pop Single Leg

Coleman uses the over tie to set up his sweep single.  This time when he does so, he doesn't just use his side step and level change to set up the attack.  He pops his opponent's elbow with this back hand and then uses his over tie hand to attack the sweep single.

Over Tie to Slide By with Leg Clear Finish

Coleman uses a crow hop to hit an awesome slide by from the over tie, then when his leg is caught in front of his opponent's, he straightens it, brings it high (and to the front of his opponent), clears it and then comes behind for the TD.
