- 2026 Senior World Championship Brackets: Here's When They'll Be Released
With matches streaming live on FloWrestling, fans can turn the nine-day tournament into a wrestling watch party, provided they plan around the time difference.
Whether you're gathering friends for a championship finals session or setting an early alarm for a favorite wrestler, a little preparation can make the experience more enjoyable.
Here's how to plan your Senior World Championships watch party.
1. Pick The Right Session For Your Watch Party
The first step is deciding which session you want to watch. The tournament spans nine days, with different weight classes competing throughout the schedule.
Many qualification sessions begin at 1:30 a.m. ET, while semifinals generally take place around 7:30 a.m. ET. Medal sessions are often scheduled from 9 - 11 a.m. ET.
For most American fans, the morning medal sessions will be the easiest opportunity to gather a group without sacrificing an entire night's sleep.
Here are a few dates to circle:
- Saturday, Oct. 24: The tournament opens with Greco-Roman qualification rounds and semifinals.
- Tuesday, Oct. 27: Women's freestyle matches begin, alongside additional Greco-Roman competition.
- Friday, Oct. 30: Women's freestyle and men's freestyle medal matches share the schedule.
- Saturday, Oct. 31: Men's freestyle medal matches continue, with additional weight classes beginning qualification.
- Sunday, Nov. 1: The tournament concludes with the final men's freestyle medal matches.
Check the complete schedule before sending invitations. Different weight classes compete on different days, so the best session for your group will depend on which wrestlers and matchups you want to see.
2. Remember The Time Difference
The time difference between Kazakhstan and the United States is the biggest logistical challenge for a watch party.
Astana operates on UTC+5, while the Eastern time zone remains on daylight time through Oct. 31. That puts Astana nine hours ahead of the Eastern time zone, 10 hours ahead of Central time, 11 hours ahead of Mountain time and 12 hours ahead of Pacific time. The United States returns to standard time Nov. 1, the final day of the tournament.
That means a 9 a.m. ET medal session begins at 8 a.m. CT, 7 a.m. MST and 6 a.m. PST.
For fans on the West Coast, a morning watch party might require an especially early start. Consider choosing a later session or watching the archived footage if the live schedule doesn't work for your group.
3. Make FloWrestling The Centerpiece
Once you've chosen a session, make sure your viewing setup is ready before the first whistle.
The 2026 Senior World Championships will stream live on FloWrestling. Fans can watch through a web browser or the FloSports app on supported devices, including Roku, Fire TV, Google TV, Apple TV, Samsung, VIZIO and LG televisions. The app is also available for iOS and Android devices.
Before guests arrive, test your internet connection, log in to your subscription and confirm that the stream works on your television. If you're using a laptop, tablet or phone, make sure you have a reliable way to display the action for everyone in the room.
FloWrestling also archives event footage for subscribers, allowing fans to catch up on matches they missed live.
4. Build Your Menu Around An Early Start
A watch party doesn't need an elaborate menu, especially when the first matches begin in the early morning.
For sessions starting before breakfast, keep things simple with coffee, breakfast sandwiches, bagels, fruit and other easy-to-serve options. If your group plans to watch the later morning medal sessions, a brunch spread can turn the event into a full morning gathering.
For an afternoon or evening viewing party built around replays, traditional game-day snacks work just as well.
The goal is to keep everyone focused on the wrestling rather than spending the entire session preparing food. Choose items that can be set out before the action begins, and make sure guests can grab something without missing a major exchange.
5. Give Everyone A Reason To Follow The Brackets
A good wrestling watch party is about more than keeping the stream on. Give your guests a reason to stay invested in the matches.
Share the brackets before the session and identify the wrestlers your group wants to follow. You can track results, discuss potential matchups and keep an eye on which athletes are advancing toward the medal rounds.
The Senior World Championships feature three disciplines: men's freestyle, women's freestyle and Greco-Roman. Each brings different tactics and scoring opportunities, giving fans plenty to discuss throughout the tournament.
If your group follows American college wrestling, look for familiar names competing internationally. Former NCAA champions and established world medalists can provide compelling storylines, but international wrestling also introduces fans to elite competitors from around the globe.
Keep the brackets or results page available on a second screen so everyone can follow the tournament as it unfolds.
6. Have A Backup Plan For Missed Matches
Even the most dedicated wrestling fans can't watch every session of a nine-day tournament live.
Some matches will take place in the middle of the night in the United States, and work, school or other commitments may make certain sessions difficult to attend.
That's where archived footage becomes valuable. If your group can't gather for an early qualification round, plan a separate viewing session for the semifinals or medal matches. You can also arrange a replay watch party for a particularly anticipated matchup.
If you plan to watch a replay, avoid checking results beforehand if you want to preserve the suspense. Ask guests to hold off on sharing scores in the group chat until everyone has watched.
7. Make The Finals A Wrestling Event
The best watch party may be the one built around the medal rounds.
With world titles and medals on the line, the finals provide a natural centerpiece for a gathering. Invite friends who follow international wrestling closely, as well as fans who primarily watch college competition. The championship matches offer a chance to see elite wrestlers compete under the pressure of a global event.
Set a start time based on the official schedule, have the stream ready and keep the brackets accessible. If your group follows multiple weight classes, plan to stay through the full session rather than tuning in for only one match.
The tournament's final day, Sunday, Nov. 1, features the concluding men's freestyle medal matches, making it a natural opportunity to close out the event together.
