North Carolina wrestling has announced its 2026-27 schedule, a slate that features the annual rivalry dual against NC State, home matchups with Northern Iowa and Virginia Tech, and appearances at several major tournaments throughout the season.

The 2026-27 season marks year four for the Tar Heels under the direction of head coach Rob Koll. Koll will look to guide a roster that welcomed nine newcomers in the offseason, including seven freshmen and two transfers, as they look to climb the ACC ranks.
The Tar Heels bring back a core group of postseason veterans, anchored by three returning NCAA qualifiers from a season ago. The returning contingent includes Luke Simcox, Laird Root and Collin Carrigan.

Key Matchups On North Carolina's Schedule
North Carolina's season begins with individual tournament tests at the Southeast Open and Mountaineer Invitational, split by the home Blue and White Showcase. The team hosts its first true dual on Nov. 21 against Northern Iowa.
The Tar Heels then head to Tulsa, Oklahoma, for the National Duals Invitational on Dec. 12-13. They wrap up December against South Dakota State and Appalachian State before kicking off the new year at the Soldier Salute tournament in Coralville, Iowa.
ACC conference action ramps up in January with road duals at Pitt and Stanford. The highlight of the home schedule lands on Jan. 29, when North Carolina welcomes rival NC State to Carmichael Arena.
The final stretch features another premier home conference challenge against Virginia Tech and a short trip to Duke before closing out against Campbell on Feb. 20 ahead of the ACC and NCAA Championships.
When Are The NCAA Wrestling Championships 2027?
The 2027 NCAA Wrestling Championships are scheduled for March 18-20 at the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri.
